I just tried downloading the game on a new laptop, and it says that the ZIP file is password protected. Edit: Never mind, I just used one of the mirror download sites listed on the wiki.
SweGabe
I didn't do shit...but, you are welcome! :D
Hentaiking
ok now I GET IT xD
Hentaiking
how to download this link?
the link is asking for a Decrypt key. It says the current key is invalid
Melkhiordarkblade
Oh I didn't manually type it, doesn't matter now anyway I just went to the LOQO Wiki and got the link from Gabeworks.
SweGabe
Are you manually copy/pasting the whole link, because its working for me when I do that.
Melkhiordarkblade
I think there is a problem with the link, it doesn't take me to a download.

A whole bunch of audio files (as well as files in general) are missing when I download for Mac. Any suggestions on how to restore them or something?

Sounds to me that the game is looking for the pictures in the wrong places. 024-Gunner02.png is placed in the "Graphics\Pictures" directory and not the "Graphics\Characters" my best bed would be to either reinstall the RGSS-RTP, or find the "RGSS102E.dll" elsewhere and place it in a "System" folder in the games root-dir, and then update the Game.ini whit the new dll location. Not shure if it will do the trick (as i can't reproduce the error), but it's worth a shot. ;-)

Okay to anybody still having trouble with missing files go to <a href="http://www.dll-files.com/dllindex/index-0-9.shtml" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">http://www.dll-files.com/dllindex/index-0-9.shtml</a> and search for the name of your missing file if it's a dll file and either download the zip file and put that file in the folder of the program(In this case LoQO2)you are trying to run and you should be good. If you canot find the file you need either because it's not a dll file or it's not on the site assume it's either a corrupted game file(in which case re-download the game again) or something to do with RPG maker in which case follow the same advice as with the game file.
SweGabe
If they files really are missing, they should be missing for EVERYONE, not just a few selected people - but if it is on other hand due to compatibility/firewall related issues, it makes more sense why only some experience the issues.
Neko Kun
I am not the only one this has happened to in fact. This is why I was able to find the files. <a href="http://www.ulmf.org/bbs/showthread.php?t=3174&page=58" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">http://www.ulmf.org/bbs/showthread.php?t=3174&page=58</a>
SweGabe
You can't find the files because they are encrypted and hidden, I understand it must be frustrating but if that many things are missing...don't you think it's strange it only happens to you?
Neko Kun
Yes, but if a newly, freshly DLed version doesn't work either, and the game literally states there's files missing, and I then can only find these files from githubs, scattered across the web, there's something really messed up happening. Especially considering slowly the game is able to start working when I grab all the files individually, like for instance, first it said the music was missing from the menu, I find the file, DL it, and then it'll stay in the menu, then when I try to move down to "Continue" it errors and says the Sound Effect for moving the cursor is missing, I find the file, put it in the right folder, and suddenly I can navigate the menu. And now, the latest is just getting into the actual "Continue Menu" as suddenly it isn't just sound files, it's also graphics and everything this entails that is missing as well. And I can't find these files in the directory, it does not seem like a compatibility issue. Seeing as those files are nowhere to be found.. The files vanished.. I'm only theorizing to try and find a solution.
SweGabe
But you said it yourself, the game even ran fine for a while...which mean it did work before "something" came up on your end. x3
Neko Kun
But how can it just be a compatibility issue? I mean, I'm running W7 Ultimate, Microsoft security essentials and SuperAntiSpyware, besides, how would a firewall block certain files from being downloaded when it's all in a zip? Can you at least confirm for me whether the directory of the zip file here is correct with the content of your supplied files? <a href="https://i.gyazo.com/6b17197cfe3b349a9f0f919bcf5331a2.png" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">https://i.gyazo.com/6b17197cfe3b349a9f0f919bcf5331a2.png</a> Because if it isn't there's definitely something on my computer that snags the files in the downloading process.. Which will help me identify the cause.
SweGabe
If there is something wrong with the game, everyone experience it since everyone get the same game from the same download file...soooo, it's a compatibility issue or your OS/firewall is blocking it. :3
Neko Kun
And curiously enough, the game worked perfectly fine for an extended period of time, unsure how long exactly, but it worked fine. Then something happened, restarted the computer, or ran and anti-virus scan or something completely different, I cannot tell for sure, all the aforementioned files vanished? When I grab the newest version from this for example this is the result in the files content. <a href="https://i.gyazo.com/52453eae4eec1ccc4ba16afbb2e11a45.png" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">https://i.gyazo.com/52453eae4eec1ccc4ba16afbb2e11a45.png</a>

Something I experience, whenever I try to open the game, it keeps saying there's a file missing. Either a Sound Effect, or a character image. And so far what I've come across is a library of files that are supposedly supposed to be in the game's directory. I find it very odd that this isn't right. And I've tried to DL several different versions, the exact same thing occurred over and over again. Right now, it appears the only solution is to manually download the indvidual files through the library. For reference on how the error looks: <a href="https://i.gyazo.com/55685b6ca01a84234dd87e326fc6d951.png" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">https://i.gyazo.com/55685b6ca01a84234dd87e326fc6d951.png</a>

Have you actually installed RPG Maker first? It's included in the game download, and needs to be in the system to run the game. I think that dll belongs to RPG Maker.
Cody Sprayberry
yes same error
SweGabe
I take it you've already tried running the game in Compatibility Mode and/or as a Administrator?
Cody Sprayberry
its fine
SweGabe
Sorry, but there isn't anything I can do.
Cody Sprayberry
didnt help been trying everything I can
SweGabe
Copy/Paste - Okay. Kernel32.dll issues are a pretty gnarly thing to deal with, it usually indicates something wrong with your windows machine in some way (whether it be malicious software, faulty hardware, etc.). Take a look at this page to see if anything there might help: <a href="http://www.5starsupport.com/info/kernel32.htm" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">http://www.5starsupport.com/info/kernel32.htm</a>
SweGabe
I Googled the problem myself, and from what I gathered, its not a issue with the game itself - as this error message can show up from trying to use a variety of games and programs.
Cody Sprayberry
having the same problem with Legend of Queen Opala - Golden Edition as well
Cody Sprayberry
using windows 8.1 os and my tech support thinks it wont run on 8.1 yeah i installed every thing This is so much "fun"
SweGabe
And I've never heard this problem reported in the four years I've been making games...What OS are you using? Did you install everything listed in the manual?
Cody Sprayberry
so far nothing that I have found is working
SweGabe
Never heard about that one before, I suggest you Google the error code and see if something comes up!
Cody Sprayberry
I have been having a problem with getting the game to play. The error message says "Error: Can't load library: Kernel32.dll"

if you were using chrome and in incognito mode I think it has something to do with that as incognito(and chrome in general) doesn't like to download large files from mega(usually exceeding 3-400 mb) so try firefox and you should be good.
SweGabe
It seems to be working for me...has anyone else this problem?
Tried downloading this today and it comes up as "no file". I was able to download LOQO 1 with no issues.
