That makes me wonder what status this alternate Kass would have. She's still a female Yinglet. But there wouldn't be any chance of Vislet passing her off as a "Yinglet raised by humans" like in the prime story, which would throw a monkey into the wrench as far as using Kass for knowledge. Presumably, she'd still be attached to Ran's research division, but probably without being an officer or diplomat. It would be interesting to see a short comic of how the story plays out differently.

Yeahhh Kass had a lot longer to get used to this here, and was less of a "OH GOD WHAT HAPPENED, I REFUSE TO ACCEPT THIS" situation, and more of "Come on just be DONE already, I don't care if it's a yinglet I just don't want to be an awkward half-something anymore"

Kass would've shown up at the medical area very early on, and treated as a source of interest by them and Ran's department, rather than a full/actual yinglet. So, no sudden major events that resulted in being presented to Vizlet ASAP, and no promotion into an experimental diplomatic position!

I am a little curious what made you decide on the original being so fast and not this slow transformation or somewhere in between. Just wanting to get to the after effects of the change? (Admittedly one of my favorite parts. I like the psychological aspects of it.)

I realized that was just Valsalia settling onto character design, but my head canon is that Kass didn't completely finish transforming for a couple of days.

Kass seems much more composed in these alternate timelines. Must mean that the timeline that the main story takes place in is actually the worst timeline. Also, I gotta love some love for that slow burn.

slow down, ya move too fast... ya gotta make the yinging last! ... anyway, neat to see how different this AU's Kass treats the whole experience. still very annoyed at being a yinglet, sure, but probably a lot happier to go out and about town without causing an *incident* immediately!
