What I imagined: "Yeah... I know it may be hard to imagine how allying with -us- could be helpful... but I think it's like learning! When you learn some new fact, you don't always know how it's going to help. But it goes into a big wall of knowledge, and then later on, when you've worked something out that -does- help, you realize that it's resting on that wall, and that the thing you learned before is a block in it.
