Funny story. My original idea for this page included the version where Asami is resting her chin on Korra's shoulder. But, after finishing the line art and looking at the full page, I didn't feel it worked as well as I originally thought, so I decided to do a last second re-write and go with the above champagne scene instead. Part of me couldn't resist including a cheeky reference to that infamous Tumblr comment from way back when, but it was also because I felt this fits better with the celebratory vibe I want this comic to have.
I still really liked the original panel though, so after I was done with the full page, I decided to go ahead and color the original idea, too, for some bonus soft and fuzzy art.
This finally wraps up all of October's art, so now it's time for me to jump to our CaitVi comics for the month. I just finished a fresh re-watch of Season 1 and am hyped as hell for Season 2, so I'm champing at the bit to draw those two comics š
