El Pirato

Will criminal elements be included in those commissions?

Kairomaru

Oh yeah, there's about to be a FLOOD of work orders and commissions coming in for Artificers and Enchanters alike soon enough!

Aeonstorm

Looks like artificers are going to be in high demand.

TheSinful

HOW? Every single appearance of his amounts to "I gotta make sure people are protected from when those morons pull off their big plan"

El Pirato

Sorry, I thought this was HIS master plan

Kairomaru

Zosimos didn't have any part in the Great Plan... I've literally shown that half dozen times in this story. Hell, the ones that were part of the Great Plan made sure to have enough powerhouses of their own to be able to fend Zosimos off if he decided to stop them, because if he wanted to there's not many on earth that could stop him.

Kairomaru

Harry makes the TOP quality stuff! lol

The_Slave_Knight

Gotta love that everyone else has their wards falling, no matter how powerful, then you have Harry. "Huh...the wards are visible. Well, that can't be good." Meanwhile everyone else is panicking

El Pirato

Nice. The arc I've been waiting for. The Synchronization of Zosimos

Kairomaru

Don't predict things, even small ones! lol

Son of Odin

I hust had another thought. The Department of Mysteries. Their Time Turners, brain room, all of the capital w Weird stuff they have there. I bet they're having a hell of a time right now.

Kairomaru

Indeed, the fuckery of both digital electronics and magic is going to cause issues, for sure. However, you may notice that while Wards are breaking here and there, I never mentioned any Enchanted Items or Artifacts reacting to it. *Grins in plans*

Son of Odin

If electronics are getting fried, that could be crazy. Banking, healthcare and medical records, stock exchanges, etc. Harry's magic power generators probably went boom too, as magic went haywire. That'll really make the gov doubt him, if his safe system explodes a power plant. Wards failing will make Hogwarts and other magical schools visible, the various Ministry buildings across the world. I dread to think how it affected the magic of healers trying to work on their patients.

Kairomaru

You're welcome, happy that you enjoyed it!

Kairomaru

Modern nuclear power plants seal themselves automatically upon any interference to the system. Nuclear plants can literally have a plane flown into them and they'll basically be undamaged. When they're built right, they're basically massive bunkers meant to protect the core from outside influence, and seal said core so that it can never have a catastrophic meltdown in the event of an accident.

DALucifer

If electrics are frying, they need to shut down all nuclear plants asap until they either get them shielded or converted to a magic based system

Kasikan

It'd be death to the planet if enough damage is done to the Ozone layer and rest of our atmosphere. Earth could easily become another Mars if enough damage occurs. With the self destructive trend of humanity, I could definitely see a world that regained magic and it's ability to act seeing humanity as a threat that needs to be dealt with the same way a sick person's immune system would react to an illness affecting it enough to slowly kill them. It's just a matter if the author wants to go the route of pro humanity or pro magic and world soul. Someone has to lose and right now it's humanity. If they decide to go nuke happy, then it's everyone. Which I could easily see the Earth deciding enough is enough and just wiping out humanity as a whole.

Actually, a good movie that makes me think of what you’re talking about as well as the points I have made is Nausicaä of the Valley of the Wind, Origin: Spirits of the Past is another good one, and lastly, that is more pushing a balance with nature and our effect on it would be Princess Mononoke.

Christian Jeffress

That makes more sense, although way, I imagine that all the chemicals were more than likely, simply kill us off more than the planet at large. Hell, you have fungus. I think it is that is growing in the radioactive areas of Chernobyl. I’m talking about the super radioactive areas. I figure the planet will adapt and survive, even if the things living on it, go through another mass extinction event due to the things humans have done. As they said Jurassic Park, life finds away. The only difference would be that we would be the sixth mass extinction event on the planet lol. I watch Roanoke gaming, and he talks about a lot of the chemicals that are out there, such as chemicals that are in the rain forever that are very unhealthy. I completely agree with you here, but less so that it’s killing the planet, and more so that it might just end up, killing humans unless we do something. That’s even ignoring the things that are added to food, the various antibacterial resistant strings that are coming about, and everything else you mentioned. But what can you do, just have to take it one day at a time, and hopefully more awareness is made about the of all these chemicals.

Christian Jeffress

Thank you very much for the really awesome and very climactic chapter.

Kasikan

Climate change wasn't what I was referring to. It's all the toxins that come from pollutants that are increasing the more humans there are. Oils, plastic, drugs people take that end up in the water systems causing major problems for the ecosystems, toxic waste and many other things that are far more damaging to the Earth than it getting warm or cold. That part is natural. Even if it's faster than normal, it's part of the natural order. The rest though, that's all slowly killing everything off. I remember reading about how the birth rates of male to females of frogs was changing due to all the estrogen and other stuff ending up in the water due to women taking drugs that end up in their urine which eventually end up in the water. Sure that was a few decades ago, but the idea that the drugs being given out could affect the wildlife shows a very bad trend for all life on the planet aside from the damage everything else does.

Christian Jeffress

The world isn’t dying due to the use of fossil fuels lol. The planet has gone through many drastic temperature and climate changes over the course of 4 1/2 billion years. Let alone the multiple extinction level events that the planet and various species have gone through as well. Slowly, phasing out fossil fuels once you have actual good replacements is completely understandable. Many technologies have come to change the dynamic of the workforce, and we have adapted. The problem usually comes from idiotic politicians, trying to force the issue rather than slowly phasing things out. Another issue is that when using things like electric cars and so on, we don’t exactly have the power grid to support it, when just too many people turning on their air conditioner, can crash it. A negative effect of not using things like the highly efficient nuclear power. Yet even so, there are really cool things like the molten salt power plant that is also very efficient. We need to let these things happen naturally as technology progressively gets better and people move towards that. Rather than just trying to force things which will actually negatively affect a larger number of people. Yes, and the matter of bankrupt companies, that’s just going to be a side effect of companies, succeeding, or failing. But again, when you have government intervention, things are usually worse. Either bail allowance or the government trying to force one issue or another, that’s when problems arise. Like you said, and something I completely agree with, these things have to go slowly overtime. Let the technology and the consumerism developed naturally so you have the least overall negative impact.

Kasikan

Considering how the world is dying at the hands of people wanting to use fossil fuels. I kind of feel like this is the way the world would get back at the stupid humans who harmed it. All they did was raise the magic of the world back to what it used to be and everything that comes after is the Earth getting revenge. The lady saying people would be without jobs if they stopping using fossil fuels proved herself to be an idiot. It takes time to phase out old power plants to build new ones and what not. They easily could have slowly shifted people out of coal mines to close them and give them other jobs elsewhere. Not to mention companies go bankrupt every so often and everyone ends up jobless that worked for them. Do they make sure failing companies don't close down by wasting billions to bail them out? Of course not. It'd be a waste of money and there are always other companies hiring. It's just a matter of doing it slowly enough to allow for people to get new jobs. Not just outright condemn the idea to small scale to preserve some of the most useless jobs around.

Kairomaru

Thank you, glad you liked it! You'll see what happens soon enough! The world will basically HAVE to come together in light of this paradigm shift, that's for sure!

Kairomaru

You're welcome! Happy that you enjoyed it! The changes will definitely continue and have to be dealt with! The story is heading towards its end, and I want to give it a satisfying one!

Joshua Naugle

Great chapter. I wonder if any of the people involved with the 'Great Work' will care of the aftermath and if they will help at all. Or just be like some wizards and witches and not care about the consequences.

Avericia94

Thanks for the chapter. Can't wait to see everyone's reaction in the aftermath
