Dev Update #12: 5/6 done + Hardware Update
🕑 Added 2021-09-02 03:27:18 +0000 UTCHi all - happy September! I'm just wrapping up scene 5 of 6 for Chapter 6, so we're well on track for the September 12th release. Alpha testers can expect the alpha posted in the Discord tonight. This update might get close to 400 renders, which would make it the largest update (in terms of render count) that I've put out yet. There's lots of content to enjoy with each character (well, besides one, RIP), some good character development, and a good amount of handholding to boot. We're almost there, so just keep hanging on!
Thanks to everyone's support, I've been able to upgrade my rendering rig! I now have two 3090s to render with, so that'll double my render speeds. I'm planning on using the increased power to really upgrade my animation game. Even with one 3090, doing animations longer than 120 frames or so was pretty tough; it takes a lot of time to render a model as detailed as Maria, so doing it 120+ times is pretty time consuming. Having a second 3090 means that the animations will go twice as fast, so...You all can see where I'm going with this. Needless to say, you can expect more, longer, and better animations from here on out. There won't be any in Chapter 6, but...You'll see what I mean in due course. >:)
tl;dr - still planning on Sept. 12 release, also got new computer parts so renders go brrrr
