Dev Update (15/09/2025)
🕑 Added 2025-09-15 14:01:44 +0000 UTCHi!
Here's a quick dev update.
First few water / fishing related topics.
I decided to grab the "auto-swim" detection from the commercial branch to the upcoming final demo, so now the character can enter/exit swim mode seamlessly without a need of any specific swim buttons.
On top of this, the new Village map has now those fish hotspots and in order to introduce some fishing elements when starting a new game, Generalist will have one specific demo task that involves catching a specific fish.
Another thing I grabbed from the commercial branch is a watch mechanic which will display a time in the equipment watch slot (if watch item is equipped), which is kind of necessary to bring to the final demo as well since there's sleeping / transition time costs etc.
Then when it comes to final demo bug fixing, I have only 4 "must-fix" bugs remaining, so the final demo is now much more stable compared to the 173 bugs where I started from.
I'm sure I will find some more bugs when I start doing more playtesting but in-general the progress is quite promising to the Next Fest timeline.
