The Great 2019 Update Post
🕑 Added 2019-03-05 20:18:22 +0000 UTCHey, folks!
Firstly, I'd like to thank you all for your generous support and patience. As some may have noticed, I have a terrible tendency to disappear for decent stretches of time for reasons related to my own (poor) mental health. I would like to apologize for doing this without proper notice and assure you guys that I'm okay. Unless I say so, these are not indefinite hiatuses.
So it's naturally been a hot minute since the last post on this page. Now that we're settled into 2019, I'd like to make another major update post to share some announcements and other important info about the current state (and future) of this Patreon.
There's quite a lot to cover here, so please bear with me as I break it all down as neatly and concisely as I can!
1) BLENDER (AND DAZ 3D) CONTENT COMING SOON
I am currently in the process of learning both Blender and DAZ 3D. Content made in these programs will be sparse at first, but I hope to transition to Blender as my main program later this year with Source Filmmaker and DAZ 3D as side programs.
2) 2018 ANNUAL PACK COMING SOON
Another year, another annual pack. This will go live for patrons as soon as the problem with reward access is settled. Speaking of that...
3) CHANGES TO REWARD ACCESS FOR ALL PATRONS
Patreon is rather picky when it comes to my content and continues to bug me about removing posts even when I stick to the rules.
To deal with this, I'll be temporarily disabling animation and picture rewards and working out a new system for patrons to access them.
Basically, the new system will probably involve access codes distributed via Direct Messages here on Patreon and also on Discord. These codes will let you access the MEGA folder containing rewards for the current year as well as the MEGA folders for the annual packs.
The access codes for the current year's folders will change every month, but there will be permanent access codes for the annual packs.
More details will come in a separate post once the system's been fully worked out, but I think it'll solve most of the issues with content being openly posted here on Patreon.
4) SUPER MONTHLY POLL 2 TURBO HD REMIX: REVENGEANCE
The monthly poll will finally make its triumphant return in April.
As it was before, you'll be able to vote for characters/ideas to be featured in a monthly Patreon animation.
Voting will be a bit different this time, though.
All patrons will be able to vote once as normal. However, $2 and $10 patrons will be able to vote again via an exclusive second poll. The votes from both polls will be tallied together to determine the winner.
5) COMMISSION DISCOUNTS & EARLY ACCESS FOR ALL PATRONS
This year, patrons will receive extra rewards related to my commissions: scaling discounts and early access.
• $1 Patrons take 5% off their total by verifying their Patreon pledge with me
• $2 Patrons take 10% off their total by verifying their Patreon pledge with me
• $10 Patrons take 15% off their total by verifying their Patreon pledge with me and are slotted into an exclusive priority queue
• All patrons will be notified 1 week before my commissions open and may reserve an early slot during that week
These discounts will go live the next time I open commissions.
6) CHANGES TO WORK-IN-PROGRESS PREVIEWS AND DISCORD
As I mentioned above in #3, Patreon is rather picky when it comes to content that's posted directly on my page. This means WIP previews will no longer be available directly through here. Instead, you'll be able to find WIP previews and updates over on my Discord server Side Z and its companion server Sans Limites.
If you link your Discord account to Patreon, you should automatically be added to Side Z with a Patron role. Updates/previews shared on Sans Limites will be available to anyone who has asked for and been granted access to that server.
And that should be all for now!
Again, thanks so much to you all for your generous support. This is shaping up to be a bigger year than usual, and I hope you guys can stick around for it.
Much love,
- Z
