Reflections 💫
🕑 Added 2022-07-21 03:38:23 +0000 UTCI’m working on the RSVP for our upcoming 9th Sapphic Slumber Party and I found this reflection I wrote after hosting the inaugural Sapphic Slumber Party in 2017. It makes me so happy that we carried on (and dare I say improved upon) our original vision. Here’s a random photo snapped at 5-minutes-to-go-time on our first event, and some excited thoughts about why that night was special.
Adventures in babe land.
Weeks have passed. I’ve shared more than 100 shots from our inaugural Sapphic Slumber Party, mailed intax photo-evidence across the globe, and I still can’t get over how magical this night was.
Having the opportunity to travel to New York and attend events like the Babely Baking Brunch @deniselikesit hosted, and @msdarker‘s immaculate Sappho’s Socials, inspired me to create something for the kinky queer women I love here up North.
My vision was simple; I wanted to spoil my femme and female friends in a luxurious setting that made them feel like the queens they are. I rented a gloriously macabre mansion for the night, invited all the babes I know (near and far!) and set to work on the details.
With 23 beauties to cater to we bought cases of prosecco, hired a Tarot card reader for the night, arranged for @miniature-minx to lead a rope and self-tie demo (she brought free rope for everyone courtesy of BDSM Geek), arranged a clothing and cosmetics swap so guests could get rid of clutter and take home something new, called upon culinary friends to create a delicious spread of sweet and savoury foods, organized games and ice-breaker activities, created a flagging system to assist communication, hooked everyone up with instax shots PLUS a loot bag full of goodies (which included my saucy handkerchief’s, Joie’s luxurious body scrubs and butters and free passes to a local kink and sex club, among other things). Some guests brought several outfit changes, everyone was in cute jammies and gorgeous lingerie, it was dream-like, really.
The night was ripe with shrieks of laughter, singing and howling, cackling and celebrating our queer kinky babeness. There were moans and infinite orgasms, smacking and kissing and grinning galore. I didn’t want it to end.
Kinky spaces for queer women are important and rare. It was so invigorating to see how much energy everyone had, how conversations could get deep and raw and intimate, how that didn’t make the vibe less sexy at all and we didn’t have to worry about filtering our reality. I loved hearing women negotiate flirting and kink, the communication made my heart pitter patter. Women loving women are so powerful. So many guests were overwhelmed to be in environment with girls supporting girls so enthusiastically.
There were first kisses, first spankings, first brave requests. There were numbers exchanged and gifts given and glorious memories made. There was fucking. Hot animalistic fucking, gentle soft fucking, fucking behind closed doors upstairs and fucking on the floor in front of everyone.
There were camera flashes, marked red asses and more joints blazed than I could count. There was service and submission, strip-teases and silly dances. There was community, and connectivity, and storytelling that pulled us all together. The kindness, the mindfulness, the empathy and vitality of this group of women blew my mind.
There was a moment just after midnight when we kind of looked at each other and realised we’d pulled it off, this fucking bliss as we took in our beautiful surroundings and revelled in it. We stayed up until the sun, went to sleep with the birds chirping.
I was high for a week off of all of the love, and have been missing this heavenly state since. Needless to say I’m already planning on doing it again. (How does November sound?)
