Portrait of a Messy Mermaid at the End of a Decade
🕑 Added 2019-12-31 21:09:19 +0000 UTCI took these shots last night in her hotel room after she’d fawned over my messy hair. It makes me feel like she sees me, whole, and isn’t daunted.
I sent them to her this morning, she called me her wild girl. She also told me that she’d changed her mind, that she was going to join us at Eden’s place for New Year’s Eve.
When we didn’t have plans Eden offered to have everyone at her place out of the city for some hot tub and chillin’ under the stars. Max was unsure about how she’d feel meeting my husband, but she was fucking brave and spoke up, and she was open to considering it. Willfulness.
She let me reassure her, and we talked through a few scenarios. I reminded her these things are difficult even for seasoned poly folks. It’s daunting managing more than one connection in one place, she doesn’t have to be perfect at it. She listened and assured me she was over the moon for me.
So now all I have to do is try not to panic and let it happen, trust both of them to be kind and take care of themselves, and hope that we find some kind of harmony.
Ms.O will be there to keep me calm, Eden (and her good boy pooch) will be there to reassure Max, and I will flit around trying to make everyone happy.
Wish us luck.
