I took too many covers... I've been away, from Patreon & social media, so I can focus on finishing covers this month, but also because I felt like a disappointment for not having any of my own work done.
After January (and coming months), I do not feel like doing anymore covers (temporarily). I think I'll be taking a break from accepting more work, because my real passion is making art for everyone. Some rare individuals just kept bugging me about doing more covers for them. I declined them, but some people don't know how to take "no" for an answer.
I'm in no contract to continually work for them, I'm a FREELANCER. If there's a problem with their planning because I don't take the work; that's their problem, not mine! There are many great artists out there, give them a chance. I almost sent an angry text because of this (as you can see in the screenshot).
Out of pity, I gave in (they got me), now I have to do more covers. Art/covers was supposed to be a fun thing to do, this does not feel good.

I don't know if you'll want to do much more covers for UDON. Director of Publishing, Matt Moylan, of UDON might be a bigot. He has said there was no DEI at UDON on Twitter, and when I asked him to clarify if it involved diversity, equity, and inclusion within the company, he blocked me.

Never apologize to yourself for acting on a good heart decision. They may not appreciate your time and efforts but we do man. Handle what you need to over there. We'll be right here, nothing has changed on this side ππΎπͺπΎππ―

Don't be sorry, honestly, you don't have to. Take your time, after all, if art becomes just something you do cause of obligation, it is just another work, and there are more than enough of those; I would have done exactly the same if I were you. Hope you can have some rest and get to those personal projects you had to lay a side, when you feel to. Best regards man! PD: By the way, those HEL sketches are killing me. Nice ones!

1st) Don't ya worry Pal. It's understandable what you're going through. As much as it is beneficial to get these jobs. Don't forget ya gotta prioritize yourself. Be it for your own art or for a break, ya gotta make time for yourself. The fact that those people still contact you means you'll always be in demand. So don't feel bad if you have to refuse. As much as I love the covers you've been turning out, I can definitely see how that could take you away from the projects you're doing for yourself (and us ofc)! It just goes to show just how much effort and time goes into making those covers. It sucks that some people feel entitled to your time and efforts! I can imagine it's super annoying and tiring!

Ah understandable also shame said covers can't be made into prints and sold I quite like the Vampirella and Red Sonja ones I mean sure you did the covers but would it be a copyright problem for them? Well aside from the work you've been commissioned to do any more characters of others or your own you have in doing?
