Standing on the rooftop with just a yukata and a short, feeling the cool night breeze, Toshiro watched the ninjas gather to intercept the Nine-Tails. He couldn't help but admire their determination to protect their homeland.
Though most of their efforts seemed futile, no one gave up.
"Ebisu, you should go help those trapped civilians! Your strength is too weak to take on the Nine-Tails."
Seeing Ebisu preparing to confront the Nine-Tails, Toshiro was surprised. He swiftly kicked the troublesome guy into Flower Street to rescue the injured.
"Uchiha Fire Barrier Formation."
As the Konoha ninjas gathered, Toshiro received the Senjutsu chakra transmitted from his shadow clone. Without hesitation, he used the barrier jutsu that had the power to contain Eight-tails easily.
"Shadow clone!"
He created several clones, opening exits at the barrier's edge for civilians to escape.
"Summoning Jutsu!"
Knowing that the barrier couldn't hold the Nine-Tails for long, Toshiro bit his finger and used the summoning jutsu to call for backup.
"Shiromari, I need your help!"
A massive lizard appeared opposite the Nine-Tails. Recognizing Yamawashi's limitations in combat, Toshiro had signed a contract with Shiromari, who appeared in one of the filler episodes of the anime.
"Master Toshiro, even I can't hold out long against the Nine-Tails," Shiromari admitted, despite its confidence against foes like Gamabunta and Manda.
"Don't worry! This is Konoha. Just stall the Nine-Tails within the barrier. Help will come soon."
The gathered ninjas were disorganized, rushing forward without considering their strengths and weaknesses. Some held weapons like shuriken and kunai, hoping to stop the Nine-Tails. Toshiro knew their efforts would be in vain.
Toshiro turned to the stunned Konoha ninjas below and called out, "This is the police force. All Konoha ninjas, follow my command for now!"
Displaying his Sharingan, Toshiro continued, "All ninjas without long-range ninjutsus, evacuate and help save civilians. The rest.. join me in containing the Nine-Tails. Someone must also inform the Hokage to decide what to do next!"
"Yes!"
Shaking his head, Toshiro stood atop Shiromari, ready to lead the defense.
The ninjas moved swiftly. Seeing that the instructions came from the well-known Uchiha police force and noting the impressive summoning creature and barriers he had employed, they followed Toshiro's orders without hesitation. Those with long-range ninjutsu kept their distance, while others retreated further back.
"attack, Shiromaru!"
At Toshiro's command, Shiromaru's massive body charged toward the Nine-Tails head-on.
Boom!
A resounding thud echoed, causing the ground to tremble and unsettling the distant Konoha ninjas.
"All ninjas who know the swamp of the underworld, use it now! Others.. Use your own jutsus, but ensure your ninjutsu doesn't clash."
With Shiromaru knocking the Nine-Tails into the deep swamp Toshiro had prepared, he directed the ninjas to unleash their long-range attacks. The Nine-Tails' sheer power was overwhelming, and Toshiro knew he couldn't contain it alone.
"Damn it!"
Facing the Nine-Tails firsthand, Toshiro realized the true extent of its ferocity. This wasn't the divided version weakened by Namikaze Minato; it was whole and formidable.
"Fire Release: Dragon Flame Bomb!"
As the Nine-Tails whipped its chakra-laden tails at him and Shiromaru, Toshiro felt the pressure. Each tail's swing was as destructive as a high-level ninjutsu, and with nine tails, the damage potential was immense.
"Thank you for your help, Shiromaru!"
Toshiro blocked five tails with his ninjutsu, while Shiromaru managed to fend off the remaining four. However, relief was short-lived as the Nine-Tails began preparing a Tailed Beast Ball, filling the barrier with a menacing aura.
"Damn it, Obito! Letting the Nine-Tails hit me with a Tailed Beast Bomb? I should have killed that bastard when I had the chance!"
The tomoe in Toshiro's Sharingan spun furiously as he felt the danger intensify. If he doesn't act quickly, the consequences could be catastrophic.
"Earth Release: Mobile Core!"
Seeing the Tailed Beast Ball nearly ready, Toshiro didn't hesitate. He raised a tall stone pillar beneath the Nine-Tails, aiming for its chin.
Boom!
A burst of colorful explosions erupted in the sky above Konoha, visible even to residents of the Land of Fire, dozens of kilometers away.
"That was close!"
Wiping the cold sweat from his forehead, Toshiro felt a shiver run down his spine. Everyone within the barrier shared his relief, feeling like they had narrowly escaped disaster.
Snap! Snap! Snap!
Trees, house ruins, and flying debris hit a fiery red barrier, only to be incinerated by the flames that clung to it.
Boom!
With a massive, fiery red tail lashing out,
Crack! Crack! Crack!
The barrier groaned under the strain, sounding as if it might shatter.
“What’s going on at the Hokage Building? It’s been so long, where are the reinforcements?” Toshiro shouted from atop Shiromaru, eyeing the Nine-Tails that had seemed to stop playing games and was trying to get out of the barrier.
Even with Shiromaru and Toshiro together, they wouldn't hold out for much longer. Someone had to find out what was happening at the Hokage’s side and when help would arrive.
“No idea!” came the reply from the ordinary Konoha ninjas, who turned their heads towards the barrier's opening, anxiously awaiting reinforcements.
'Without a Mangekyō Sharingan, handling the Nine-Tails is too difficult,' Toshiro thought. Despite being in Sage Mode, with his ninjutsu significantly powered up, he was struggling against the Nine-Tails’ seemingly limitless chakra.
“The barrier won’t hold for long. Everyone, get ready!”
It was clear what they needed to prepare for—fighting with everything they had. Without the protective barrier, the Nine-Tails’ mere tail swings could devastate Konoha. The ninjas below would have to give their all.
“Sorry! I’m late~”
Just as Toshiro was contemplating a retreat, a figure in a black combat uniform appeared above Shiromaru.
“Sandaime-sama!” Toshiro exclaimed in relief. “Perfect timing! With you here, the strongest Hokage, the Nine-Tails should be no problem at all! I can finally relax!”
Toshiro then stepped aside, signaling that the old leader should take charge.
“…Toshiro!” The Sandaime Hokage couldn’t suppress the twitch at the corner of his mouth. He wanted to downplay the "strongest Hokage" claim and focus everyone's attention on the Nine-Tails, but before he could speak, another figure in an Anbu uniform appeared atop Shiromaru, looking displeased.
“Uchiha Toshiro! The higher-ups have ordered that the Uchiha must not participate in intercepting the Nine-Tails…”
Toshiro fell silent.
Danzo’s trained subordinates were nothing if not diligent. Once given orders, they executed them with unwavering commitment. Their dedication explained how they later managed to orchestrate an assassination attempt, even on the Sandaime Hokage.
“Since the ANBU has ordered it this way, there's nothing we can do…”
"How about I leave this to the Sandaime Hokage and rest in the back?"
Seeing the root ninja who had just arrived, Toshiro pretended to be confused and referred to the intruder as ANBU. He then suggested that he would obediently follow orders and leave everything to the Sandaime.
"…"
Even with his extreme composure, the Sandaime almost killed the root ninja. Danzo's subordinates were becoming increasingly incompetent, acting like unfeeling machines without understanding context or emotions. But it wasn't a big issue right now.
"Toshiro, it's too early to talk about rest. Let's wait until this problem is solved," said the Sandaime. "As for this ANBU, ignore his remarks; they are just attempts to sow discord!"
He then glanced pointedly at Toshiro's white Yukata, emblazoned with the words "New paradise." Clearly, Toshiro had been resting more than enough before.
The Sandaime knew exactly what the New Paradise was. If it weren’t for his position and the sternness of his wife, Biwako, he might have visited himself. Now that he was nearing retirement, he wondered if he could use the transformation technique to sneak a visit...

Under the Sandaime's cryptic gaze, Toshiro coughed awkwardly to cover his embarrassment. Thankfully, he had found a pair of shorts from a nearby store; otherwise, he would have been too embarrassed to be seen.

At that critical moment, the Nine-Tails saved him from further embarrassment by shattering the barrier Toshiro had cast.
"Sandaime, do you have a battle plan?" Toshiro asked, focusing back on the raging Nine-Tails. The root ANBU had already been taken away by the Sandaime’s guards.
"If the Nine-Tails stays in the village longer, the damage will only worsen. We should drive it out of the village first."
Seeing the devastation caused by the Nine-Tails' tails, smashing buildings, and endangering villagers, the Sandaime decided to prioritize action over caution. The village needed the Uchiha’s strength, especially Toshiro’s powerful summoning beast.
‘The huge Chameleon is undoubtedly very powerful!’ he thought, acknowledging Toshiro's growth. If he remembered correctly, Toshiro wasn’t even 17 yet. Truly impressive.
"Summoning jutsu: Monkey King Enma!"
Now wasn't the time for further contemplation. The Sandaime summoned the strongest friend he has among the Monkey clan - Enma.
"It looks like the Nine-Tails and the Shiromaru. Quite lively today… Hiruzen!"
As the smoke cleared, a tall old monkey with white hair, a white beard, and a tiger skin skirt appeared between Toshiro and the Sandaime. It was the Sandaime’s summoning beast, the Monkey King Enma.
"Enma, we need you and Toshiro's lizard to drive the Nine-Tails out of the village."
"Please!"
Facing the Nine-Tails alone would be difficult, but with Toshiro’s help, they stood a much better chance.
