Palace of Smokeless Fire - test build 5!
🕑 Added 2026-01-18 23:25:01 +0000 UTCHere it is. This one is much smaller than the previous build because it's a more polished sketch of the early game that will be included in the demo. This build only goes up to the giant wall I've built around Solan Village, which blocks the player from going into the hub area while I work on it. You'll have to start a new game if you've played previous builds, but this build's only like 30 minutes long. Let me know if you run into any issues.

Everything is looking really good. I like the addition of trees in the outside landscape, and all the mushroom huts you can squish after the feast. I especially looovve how when you look straight down after the feast you can see Sophie's big belly >///<

I'm considering adding some sidequest in which you get a reward for consuming them all, we'll see.

I like the extra essence and sugar fairies as, basically, old school platformer collectables to guide the player and rewards for exploring nooks and crannies, but the sugar plum fairies seem kind of redundant, unless theres a mechanic I'm missing - you hit certain numbers consumed and you get a flat exp amount that is lower then, say, a similar number of consumed rations. I like the idea, like I said, it just feels like its missing something, like an hp or stamina buff, or weight gain, or like, faster digestion/more capacity or something

Thanks! And you must have a higher strength in order to get in there.

Thanks for clearifying - also maybe its just my confusion the "Shrine" i guess with the stone fairy - is it locked or did i miss something where i get more strengh, or is it dependant from your starting points use? - Also love the new enemys! the fairies are cute but evil haha!

Yeah, it is. I'm currently polishing up that dungeon and it will be replayable again soon. Sorry for any confusion.
