Lots of whining and complaining going on here, great art from Tsuu, as always!

I wonder what a poll would show about readership opinions and gender? “I am male/female”. “This art was fine/inappropriate”. “This art made me happy/mad/ uncomfortable/don’t care.” Just a thought.

Interesting take, Mei i could 100% see wearing something like this and rockin it. But Xiulan? No she would not be a flag bearer, she'd be a competitor and she'd 100% win.

PS: in case you think I’m a prude, I’m not. I enjoy romance books on occasion. I very much like how this series mentions bedroom activities but never “enters the bedroom” as it were. If I want that I seek it out. This series I can recommend to my high school students. This art - I could lose my job for reading this on my lunch break and this picture pops up.

Sorry but - no. Personal fantasies are fine and fan art is fine, but being posted here gives it the official stamp of approval of the author, makes it official. Everything so far has been quite good about not crossing the line of respecting women as people instead of objects, it’s one thing I love about the series, the gender equality. This art fully crosses the line and flips the bird at treating women respectfully at the same time. This isn’t an explicit romantasy series - if it was this art would be appropriate. But it’s not, so this art, well, it won’t be well received by 90% of your female readers.. the bottom up view is especially slutty. I’d highly suggest you don’t do more such and do not include this in published editions. Heck I’d suggest you take this down but I doubt that’ll happen. I do love your series, please know I post this criticism with the intention to help you as an author/business man. Always keep readers/customers expectations in mind. Only when you know the rules can you break them successfully.

You know there's lots of other art that doesn't sexualize them at all, right?

I'm torn. Authors write these incredible stories where women feel seen, that seem to wholeheartedly recognise and address the unwanted sexualisation of women, and then release art that goes completely against that grain absolutely killing all of the previous effort put in to that character's development. It mimics the real experience of women of being told platitudes to their face and then they're treated like sexual objects 100% of the time anyway. It's not the first time an author has ruined their series for me by taking a character with stories that feel like genuine pain and suffering and then eventually go for the low hanging fruit of depicting them in art as nothing more than a sex object. Maybe this kind of fanservice hurts the original work. Why can't we get Xiulan doing something triumphant or Meiling discovering something in her lab?
