on a much more personal note,
im sorry for not posting here as regularly. I’ve been a mix of extremely busy and a bit depressed. This year has made me really come to terms with my own mortality. I found out last year through testing I have the same genetic problem that killed my grandmother and likely my great grandmother, and almost killed my mom two years ago. I have the benefit of knowing what I’m dealing with, and being able to combat with preventative testing and treatment, but I’m just really tired of what feels like crisis after crisis in my personal life. I’m thankful I’ve never had the desire to have children, because I would never want to pass this down to someone else.
Hamilton has become so insanely popular in recent years that is seems cliche now, but back when it first came out, I completely identified with the recurring theme of trying to get as much created as you can before you die. “I never thought I’d live past twenty”, “Why do you write like you’re running out of time”, etc.
It is time for me to stop grieving for myself and start working on whatever will be my great life works. i cannot have all that I put out in the world be an echo of something else. I hope you’ll join me on my journey, even if I’m not quite sure what that is yet.
