The World of Witch & Wane
🕑 Added 2020-08-24 21:15:22 +0000 UTCIt's not a proper fantasy story without a map, damnit.
It's still something of a work in progress, and I'm not entirely decided on scale. The Apeture Sea is several thousand miles across. But how many thousands of miles? Probably doesn't matter. It's big. I don't have to give a sense of scale. But I want one.
The story takes place in only one corner of the wider world, but it's nice having an idea of what is out there. Perhaps for future stories. Or perhaps not. I just love world building.

Oh, I see. Yes, that is a typo on my part. Spelling is not my strength.

Sorry; english is not my first language, but I thought it was to say Aperture Sea. But the name is of cause whatever you choose it to be.

That's fantastic. Looking forward to hearing about the development and the upcoming stories!

Nothing is sure until it’s finished. But I don’t see anything wrong with the name.

Fine map, but are you sure the name of the sea is exactly what you want?

Good maps are so hard to get right, they often look too artificial. Ironically the islands surrounding that clearly unnatural sea look great!

Scale will only matter if you need to take into account invasions/logistics from the other side of the sea (figure 100 miles per day for 24hr sea travel, with good winds). However, the chosen scale will also affect your land scale, which will alter any story time unless characters travel "at the speed of plot".

Yup. Witch & Wane is a new fantasy comic I'm developing. You've likely seen development work of Aaren the witch hunter character who is one of the principle protagonists in the story. And now that Star Power is wrapped, you'll be seeing a lot more of this world as I continue to develop the story.

Looks awesome. For a new story?

I love world building, too.
