The halls around the Great Hall were packed with students, with the four Champions standing by the large doors that had yet to be opened.
Professor McGonagall hadn’t mellowed out at all with the ongoing Yule festivities, going from group to group of students as she tried to maintain a semblance of order. It was a futile effort to say the least, as the students would only get more rowdy and unmanageable as the evening went on. That wasn’t to mention those who were preparing for the after party, and would likely commit offenses that would see them expelled if the Professors ever found out what they were up to.
As for Harry, he settled for keeping as small a presence as possible as he stood next to the other Champions and their respective dates. People still noticed him however, as several pointed and stared at the sight of him. He was still somewhat of a recluse to the Hogwarts population at large, being absent from his classes and rarely seen around due to him spending so much time in the Lands Between. It meant that today was the first time most had seen him since the First Task.
Luckily, his presence was only briefly noted, as the other Champions easily stole whatever attention he managed to attract. If girls weren’t staring at him, then they were likely staring at Viktor Krum in his fashionable dress robes. And if those girls weren’t eyeing Krum, then they were trying to get their dates’ to stop staring at the cock-hardening sight that was the Beauxbatons Champion.
Fleur Delacour was wrapped in a thin cloth that looked to be made of molten silver, having clearly been custom ordered from one of the exclusive boutiques on the streets of Magical Paris. It hugged her form exquisitely, emphasizing her big breasts and flaring out to wide hips that held up her thick bum. Long legs were partially exposed beneath that, with slits in the dress that gave a hint of the flawless skin concealed underneath, all of which led down to high heels that looked painful for any normal girl to possibly wear.
Yet the Beauxbatons champion wore it all effortlessly, her arrogance on full display as other girls sent her scathing looks for setting the bar so high. She didn’t so much as look at any of them, nor even spare Harry a glance, staring off into space as if they were all beneath her.
Soon, the doors to the Great Hall opened as the student population began to pour in with their dates in tow. The students passed the group of Champions who stood at the front, with several going out of their way to send Harry particularly viscous looks. Ron looked especially gleeful to see him alone and unaccompanied, based on the savage grin the redhead sent his way.
Krum’s date soon arrived, and Harry had to take a second look as he realized just who she was. Hermione looked completely different with her brown hair straightened and styled while wearing a fashionable blue dress that had probably cost her muggle family quite a lot. She put on a confident facade as the Drumstrang Champion took her hand, before the two of them blushed cutely at the sight of one another.
He couldn’t help but chuckle at the sight of the famous Quidditch seeker and resident bookworm falling head-over-heels for each other. And it became even harder to stifle his laughter when McGonagall stared at her prize student as if seeing her for the first time.
But the Head of Gryffindor House soon shifted her attention away and focused on him with newfound ire. The herd of students entering the Great Hall was thinning out, and his date had yet to show herself.
Eventually, McGonagall seemed to reach the end of her patience, as she marched over to him. “Potter, do not tell me your newfound absence has also led to you forgetting to bring a date?”
He opened his mouth to respond, but another voice did so for him.
“Excuse me, Professor, but I will be Potter’s date for the evening.”
The Slytherin Ice Queen arrived just as the last group of students entered the Great Hall, sliding up to his side elegantly as the transfiguration Professor looked on with shock.
Daphne’s green dress was fitting. Green for Slytherin, and green for Greengrass. She looked less like a witch in training, and more akin to a queen about to attend a party with her fellow members of high society.
Her dress did weird things to his mind, giving the impression that she was some untouchable aristocrat, while at the same time hinting at the bombshell body which lay underneath. Her blonde hair was curled and let loose, draping more over her right shoulder than her left, while her face looked pristine with her makeup perfectly done.
And that wasn’t to mention the rest of her, with cleavage that wasn’t as extreme as most of the girls present, while also emphasizing just how large her breasts were. Below, her dress seemed to fall loosely, but that was a simple trick based on how the flare of her hips and juicy ass were hugged so erotically for his viewing pleasure. Better keep your eyes up, Potter.
“Ms. Greengrass.” McGonagall’s reaction to seeing Krum and Hermione together paled in comparison to seeing him with a Slytherin. And not just any Slytherin, but the untouchable Slytherin Ice Queen. “You… Look lovely.”
“Thank you, Professor.” Daphne replied, her cool gaze shifting to Fleur for a moment. “I’ve always found it is better to dress with more… class, for events like these.”
Fleur was finally looking his way, and caught the insult for what it was as she looked away irritably. While the Veela’s outfit was designed to attract and entice, Daphne’s outfit seemed to have the objective of making her seem untouchable. Along with that, the fact that his date basically said she was dressed like a whore went unsaid.
“I couldn’t say it better myself.” McGonagall agreed. “I believe it’s time our Champions make their entrance.”
The Headmistress led them into the Great Hall then, as the group of Champions were greeted by a grand round of applause from the seated students. Fleur and her own date went first, with Krum and Hermione following behind. The second pair caused quite a scene as girls enviously pointed and whispered at the sight of Hermione Granger of all people with Viktor Krum, being the Quidditch star who was seemingly pursued by half the girls in the school.
After them came Cedric and Cho, which didn’t seem to surprise anyone. The couple was appropriate, with Cho being the Ravenclaw seeker and a prefect, which was matched to Cedric’s own achievements. It helped that most were still digesting the sight of Hermione being picked by Krum, and didn’t have to reconcile Cedric’s choice of date. However, the last pair caused the biggest disturbance.
The applause literally stuttered and stopped for a few seconds when he and Daphne entered last. To most, if not all of the student body, the thought of Harry Potter going with Daphne Greengrass of all people was simply inconceivable. The Gryffindor Golden Boy and the Slytherin Ice Queen were presumed enemies, opposite sides of every coin that existed, from their House, politics, or breeding.
And that wasn’t to mention Greengrass’s notorious reputation of refusing suitors who asked her out, sometimes even resorting to violence while doing so. Most had given up on trying to woo the most beautiful girl in Hogwarts, and so the sight of Harry with her of all people was especially befuddling.
Eventually, the applause resumed, although there were quite a few bitter members of the audience who made their outrage clear. He spotted several boys glaring his way, and even some girls glaring at Greengrass. Among the bunch were Ron and Malfoy, both of which had identical expressions on their furious, red faces, glaring back and forth between him and Hermione with nothing but rage.
It seemed to be a bit much for the two to comprehend that Krum would go with Hermione, which made Ron especially envious, while Draco became furious over the Quidditch star choosing a muggleborn as his date. As for Daphne, Ron was steaming with rage over Harry going with a girl who was both beautiful and a Slytherin, while it was likely the same with Malfoy.
The group of Champions made their way to the front of the room as the applause subsided, getting to sit at a table with the Professors and other important guests. Harry managed to remember to slide out Daphne’s chair, placing them next to the other Champions.
Meals were delivered from enchanted menus while the ball’s participants settled in for dinner, giving Harry the time to examine the room. The Great Hall of Hogwarts had been decorated for the ball, with frost covering the walls while hundreds of garlands, wreaths, and ivy went along with it.
He looked around the table, noting that the Tournament Judges were present, including Dumbledore who sat next to McGonagall without saying a word. He did catch the Headmaster eyeing him and Daphne with a suspicious eye for a brief moment, and remembered what his date had said about Dumbledore opposing him. In a way, he wondered if there was some grand political scheme tied to this ball, and then he remembered that this was a school ball made for foolish teenagers and not a place to make political power plays.
Strangely, Harry couldn’t help but notice that one of the judges, Mr. Crouch, was absent, and that Percy Weasley of all people had taken his place. Ron’s older brother looked especially smug that evening, and had been careful to distance himself from Harry. He probably thinks I’m a Dark Lord too.
“Whoever decorated the Great Hall did a fantastic job.” Cedric started the night’s conversation awkwardly, as Cho nodded in agreement at his side.
“Zis is nothing.” Fleur raised her chin dismissively. “At Beauxbatons, we have ice sculptures in ze winter while wood nymphs serenade us at meals. None of zese ugly suits of armor or poltergeists zat haunt ze halls.”
“A shame that you find your stay in Britain so intolerable.” Daphne’s voice was like a blade. “I wonder if it’s beginning to take a toll on your health?”
Fleur scowled. “I am not so frail zat zis barbaric place would affect me, otherwise I would not be chosen as ze Champion for my school.”
“And ze leading Champion at zat.” Fleur’s date spoke, earning himself a besotted look from the blonde. “Ms. Delacour truly is ze pride of France, and has easily been able to claim first place in zis tournament. Not zat it is surprising, when faced with such paltry competition.”
He finished the sentence while looking Harry’s way, clearly challenging him. In response, he simply raised a glass. “She deserves it. After all, she managed to prepare splendidly for the task, despite it supposedly being a secret.”
Now that Harry looked at the man who spoke, he couldn’t help but notice that he didn’t look like he belonged here. He was clearly of French descent, yet was too old and dressed too pompously to be an ordinary student. “I don’t think I got your name?”
Fleur’s date sniffed. “I am Lord Laurent de Fontaine, esteemed member of ze Fontaine family, and future member of ze French magical council.”
An equal amount of smugness and snobbishness dripped from his words, spoken in a thick French accent that grated on Harry’s ears. It was like he took the worst aspects of Fleur and Percy Weasley and combined them to form his personality. Did she try and find the biggest asshole possible to be her date?
It was times like this he wished Millicent was here, as the redhead had no qualms about calling out bullshit like this. For a brief moment, he wondered why Laurent wasn’t wasn’t affected by Fleur’s Veela allure, before guessing just why that was. His head is probably too far up his own ass to even notice it.
But there was one thing that interested him though, being Fleur’s date referring to himself as a ‘Lord’. Before, he wouldn’t have cared about such a thing, but his time in the Lands Between had changed how he saw the world. Being a Lord was one of the highest titles one could achieve in the domain of the Erdtree, and himself holding the title of ‘Lord of Destined Death’ was considered a big deal.
“You’re a Lord?” His voice came out more serious and curious than he intended, as several of the table’s occupants stiffened. Daphne looked at him oddly, and so did Dumbledore who no longer pretended to be aloof. “What exactly are you a Lord of to hold such a title? More than that, how exactly did you go on to earn such a prestigious position in the first place?”
Laurent’s face reddened, looking equal parts surprised and embarrassed. “Well, I—um, Being named a Lord is tradition for ze heir of my family…”
“Wait, so you’re not even the Head of your family?” He asked in surprise. “How can you even call yourself a Lord if you hold no power?”
Perhaps he was a bit rude and mocking than he intended, as Laurent’s face reddened even more in humiliation, while Fleur looked simultaneously both mad with him and annoyed at her date.
“I-It is simple tradition.” Laurent managed to reply. “Perhaps it is better if you educate yourself on such things, Monsieur Potter.”
“Perhaps.” He shrugged. “I guess I just assumed that such titles were more rare, and not just handed out to anyone who didn’t fight to earn them.”
Perhaps he had pushed too far. “Why you…! Zis is an affront to ze House of Fontaine! I will seek—”
Just then, Dumbledore clapped, and the plates disappeared. Laurent stopped speaking, as the Hogwarts Headmaster stood to address the hall. “We shall now begin the next part of the ball, with the Champions having the first dance.”
Dumbledore had timed his intervention perfectly, clearly not wanting an international incident to occur under his watch.
He soon walked out to the dance floor with Daphne properly holding onto his arm, arranging themselves away from the other Champions on the dance floor before the music began. The dance for the Yule Ball had been sent to him ahead of time, and he had been able to practice some with Melina before returning to Hogwarts.
They settled into rhythm as music played in the background, his left hand on Daphne’s hip while his right held her hand. He had to thank Millicent for helping him with his footwork so much, otherwise he would’ve been stepping on her toes.
“Fucking Veela whore.” Daphne spoke first as they twirled slowly. “Did you see her? She practically had her tits spilling out of that dress.”
Indeed, Harry had seen Fleur’s tits in that dress. Not that he was complaining, and it wasn’t like the other girls at the ball were any different. It seemed a general trend with the female population of all three schools for the girls who had something to show… to show.
“Sorry, but I was distracted by the beauty of the Lady in front of me.”
“Flatterer.” Daphne tried to scowl, but he saw her lips quirk.
“Maybe I didn’t tell you this, but you look stunning tonight.”
“Flattery will get you nowhere, Potter.”
He left his hand on her back moved down, two of his fingers resting on the top part of her ass in a way that wasn’t entirely proper. Daphne stiffened, a blush catching her cheeks as he smirked. “Don’t worry, I know what you like.”
He felt someone staring, and looked over to see Fleur seemingly drilling holes in the side of his head with her gaze. It was like she had a third sense for what he was doing, almost like it was part of her Veela physiology.
Other couples were beginning to make their way onto the dance floor then, blocking her line of sight as Fleur disappeared from his view.
“Just tell me one thing.” Daphne said as they continued to dance. “What was that about Delacour’s date being a Lord?”
He frowned. “It’s to do with my… absences. From what I’ve gathered, being a Lord is considered a big deal, and I just thought it was the same here.”
Queen Marika, Queen Rennala, Radagon, Godfrey, along with the many demigods who all held domains of their own. Their positions and titles held genuine power, the lives of millions being cradled in the palms of their hands and affected by their very decisions. Compared to all of that, some up-jumped Frenchman referring to himself as a Lord was akin to a jest.
But maybe there was an equivalent in the Wizarding World to the Lands Between when it came to some titles. After all, he heard both Dumbledore and Voldemort referred to as Lords, and Daphne had been quite certain about his own upcoming powerhouse status when it came to magic and politics.
“It used to be.” Daphne shrugged. “Not so much in recent times. By the way you talk though, it’s almost as if you visit another time entirely when you disappear.”
“I don’t time travel, if that’s what you’re wondering.” He couldn’t hide his smile. “But I do travel… in a way.”
She harrumphed as he saw through her probing question. “You did promise to tell me.”
“I will, just give me a bit longer.” They might’ve agreed to this relationship, but he wanted it to last longer before he gave Greengrass his full trust.
“I’m getting impatient, Potter.” She looked him in the eye. “And I want to know what it is you’re up to, and how you grew so powerful. I took a big risk being your date tonight, and don’t want you to leave me in the dark forever.”
He nodded. “I know, it’s just not something overly simple. It’s—”
“Complicated, I know.” She finished his sentence. “Just like how I agreed to share you with other women, none of which I’ve met yet.”
“I’ll introduce you to them.”
“Are you fucking them?”
“I…” He didn’t see a question that blunt coming. “Yes, but why—”
She placed a finger on his lips, staring directly into his green eyes. “Then it falls to me to show my commitment to this relationship. I can sense you don’t trust me fully, it’s obvious, so after this ball I’ll show you just how committed I am to you, Potter.”
Fuck. This cock twitched in arousal, and he was tempted to leave the ball with her that very moment. While unspoken, her words combined with the way she looked at him left no doubt as to what she was suggesting. His face was a blushing mess, and he could only hope there were no eavesdroppers nearby.
She looked off to the side then, something catching her attention. “Bones.”
He followed her gaze, seeing Susan was standing at the edge of the dance floor and looking their direction.
Susan Bones was a sight to see that evening, wearing a red dress with her hair done up and pulled back in a fancy style. And if it wasn’t her face or hair that got your attention, then it was her cleavage that practically screamed to the world just how massive her tits were.
Daphne didn’t raise a word of disapproval as their dance ended and Susan ended up in his arms. It sort of just happened, as him and the redhead move quietly to the rhythm of the music as other couples twirled around them.
“I guess I shouldn’t be surprised you went with her.” Susan said after a while. “I saw you talking with her after the first task after all.”
He grimaced. “I’m sorry I didn’t go with you, Susan.”
“Why be sorry?” She shrugged, the movement doing lewd things to her gigantic breasts. “I’m hardly competition for the likes of Daphne Greengrass or Fleur Delacour. I’m just the idiot Hufflepuff who went with Harry Potter to Hogsmeade.”
“You shouldn’t talk about yourself like that.” He couldn’t help but say. “Besides, my thing with Daphne might not go anywhere.”
Susan rolled her eyes, seeing through his lie. “Greengrass was all over you, every girl here could see that. I wouldn’t be surprised if she offered to let you fuck her when this ball ends. If I were in her place, I would’ve done the same, as a girl like her would never let you escape her grasp.”
He didn’t say anything, which might as well have been a confirmation of her words.
In a way, he did truly feel bad for Susan, as while she would’ve been a great partner for him in another life, the odds were simply stacked too much against her in this situation. It simply wasn’t fair that he got on with Fleur and Daphne first, both being in the upper tiers of beauty and brains when it came to witches.
A part of him desperately wanted to make the situation right, and to tell her the truth about his complicated life. But he could hardly do something like that now, especially when there were so many people around combined with Susan’s emotional state.
So instead, he settled for something closer. His hand moved up, fingertips brushing against the side of her face as Susan stilled at the unexpected movement. “What makes you think Daphne is the only girl I’m seeing?”
“Wha- You’re cheating on her?” The redhead sputtered, her previous seriousness gone as she looked at him in shock.
“Not cheating, she already knows of my strange lifestyle… And decided to join anyways.” He felt like a villain explaining that, a certain darkness bleeding through that might’ve made him look like the Dark Lord so many accused him of being.
“H-Harry y-you…” She stumbled over her words, face going red in a blush that matched her dress.
In a way, he was hinting about his alternate life, giving her a glimpse at his true self in the process. But with it came the unspoken offer for her to join him, and get what she wanted.
“It’s something to think about, in case you truly want to be with me.” Her face only got more red, as he began moving away. “Just think about it, Susan.”
He left her like that, scatterbrained and disoriented as couples still danced around them. Meanwhile he slid through the masses like a serpent, looking to return to his Slytherin date.

Nice! Happy to see Harry falling for Daphne and vice versa, definitely looking forward to their hookup. However, I am most excited for him to also let her in on the secret next chapter, and hopefully take her w/ him to The Lands Between so she can see what his mission for becoming the Elden Lord looks like. Also, hopefully she gets to power up her magic some while there as well, maybe serve as another party member.
