I’ll just say this, Hinokami Kagura is much stronger than it seems and had Rui not cut off his own head, Tanjiro would have done it in that moment. He’d still be drained after it because it was his first time using it and he didn’t have the stamina(which was essentially what he trained with the total concentration breathing during the mini training arc). Enmu(lower 1) was pretty much a 1 trick pony. Once Tanjiro figured out his dream power he didn’t have the power to physically do anything to him(especially with Inosuke there to save him and also clear the path for Tanjiro by cutting the eyes). By the way Great reactions and discussions.
