That fellow doesn't seem to be lacking for courage that's certain. Given that she didn't think to look down it seems she hasn't had much if any interaction with men for a long time which fits with the previous two pages. Of course, given that he's roughly the size of her big toe I can't help but think he seems a bit crazy. I notice in the second panel the goddess is playing with her hair. I wonder if that's a physical signal that she's nervous. Like how some people will rub their hands together.
