As a general rule, the modern cinematics contain lore while the game itself is mostly just "themed" on the universe's lore. This year they've been using the game's "seasons" to drive lore-based cinematics, motion comics, etc; but that content itself still exists outside of the main game.

But I still don't know if it's connected to lore expansion or only game purpose, only two things I know is that the next cinematic is not fortiche and that is connected to Ionia that another region that might be new for you

There is a new league cinematic coming today also connected to another cinematic that is the continue of bite marks (another 1:45) cinematic, we can maybe watch it blind together
