Zelda Skyward Sword 4K Texture Pack 1.0.4 Patreon Release

I'm pleased to announce the release of the next update for Zelda: Skyward Sword 4K! This update includes many bug fixes and minor changes and improvements. Including an issue where the game could soft lock before the final battle with Ghirahim, and Link's incredibly gross finger nails!
The changelog for this version is shorter than usual, mostly because there's not much interesting going on for the end user- and there's just not a whole lot to explain! In fact, I'll just go ahead and make a list of bullet points to cover the most interesting stuff;
- Updated Link's face so that he doesn't look as sleep deprived as before (bags under his eyes)
- Fixed Link's gross finger nails, they now look normal!
- Link's gloves are now in HD.
- New textures for shields and shield icons
- Fixed an issue where Gaepora's eyes would display completely black
- Fixed a freezing issue that would occur before the final fight with Ghirahim (does not fix in saves already affected, unfortunately this fix will only affect new save games made using this version and beyond)
- Fixed a crash that could occur when soaring down to the overworld for the first time if you were using the Vulkan API
- Fixed an issue where the textures wouldn't display if you used Revision 0 of the PAL version of the game.
- Fixed an issue where the the simulated motion controls wouldn't work for Dualsense controllers (PS5 controllers)
- Some textures were missing from the Standard Edition of the pack that existed in the Post Processing version, they are now included in the Standard Edition as well!
- Fixed an issue where cleaning the house of one of the NPCs wasn't possible so you got stuck in the house and couldn't get out (soft lock).
Updating from a previous version is super easy! All you need to do is this:
- In the old texture pack's folder, open the "User" folder and copy the folders "Wii" and "StateSaves" to the exact same location but in the new texture pack's folder. Select "overwrite" if it asks!
- You're done. Your save data has been successfully copied over! :)

There are two versions of the texture pack you get to select once you've downloaded it. One is the "Post Processing Edition", which includes all the post processing effects showcased in the trailer like ambient occlusion, tone mapping, bloom and more. The other version is the "Standard Edition" which doesn't include these features but has some other benefits instead.
The Post Processing Edition utilizes Ishiiruka Dolphin to achieve these features, which unfortunately means gamepad/ wiimotion plus emulation is not possible in this version- you must use a REAL wiiremote & nunchuck combo using an external device like the Dolphin Bar. It also requires Windows 7 or higher and a dedicated graphics card. The standard edition includes a controller preset for common gamepads like the Xbox One controller, which means you can play the game without using a real wiiremote & nunchuck! This version also alleviates some minor Dolphin bugs present in Ishiiruka Dolphin and support MacOS & Linux, too! Both versions look stunning so if you're uncertain I recommend you play the standard version- you won't miss out on anything big!

This update, 1.0.4, is available to all you Patrons here, with a public release in two weeks from when this post was published (in 1080p)!
There is also a 4K version available, if your computer can handle it! Please feel free to try it out!
Notice: The 4K version will look better than the 1080p version, even if you don't have a 4K display. This is because the 4K version has physically larger textures with more detail!
(Only available for the Dolphin Emulator on PC or mobile (Android/iOS), the texture pack does not work on real Wii or Wii U consoles).

Ah, I see the updated message now! The sword part in the beginning can be a bit tricky. What you need to do is to is hold A+ZR (or R2, depending on the controller you have), and then pull the right stick down and then up again slowly.

Hey Kyran! Sadly they don't, but I recieve notifications from all Patreon messages so it's all good! The game is fully playable all the way through using either of the control schemes. Are you stuck in any particular part of the game?
Hey @Henriko (Do at's work here?) Tried poking around the discord with no luck. Your posts says the game is playable all the way thorough with your control scheme. How do I pull the sword? Point right stick down, then hold a... and I need to pull the wii mote up. How do I do that? Really enjoy this. Thanks!
