Zelda: A Link Between Worlds 4K Texture Pack 1.0.0 Update
🕑 Added 2021-10-01 16:00:08 +0000 UTCHi all Patrons! Today marks the Patreon release of my latest, and long awaited texture pack for Zelda: A Link Between Worlds- Zelda: A Link Between Worlds 4K! It includes over 700 new textures, covering both UI, environment, characters, text and more. And like with my other texture packs, it's super simple to use and requires close to no effort from the user. It also includes some nice shaders and post-processing effects, which are all completely configurable using the built in version of ReShade. Enjoy!
The texture pack includes a preconfigured version of the Citra emulator for Windows, with optimized preset settings so you (ideally) don't have to lift a finger once you have the game running. If you're using a Mac or Linux OS, or even Android, using it on those platforms is incredibly easy as well. Just load in the game rom and play!
You may need to set these bindings again on your own controller in case Citra does not recognize it automatically. Simply double click the input button for each respective button and press the corresponding button on your controller and you should be good to go!
This should make the game much more enjoyable, especially if you're playing on a TV where you definitely don't want to be switching around between different controllers mid-action. Luckily, A Link Between Worlds was already designed with a single screen in mind so playing through the game without having to look at the bottom screen once is definitely possible.

Selecting your game region (if you're using the PAL/European or Japanese version of the game);
All you need to do now, if you're using the European version of Zelda: A Link Between Worlds, click the "Run this if you're using the PAL (European) version of the game.bat" file inside the texture pack folder. Done! It'll now work great with your version of the game. Easy, right?
How to enable MXAO (ambient occlusion) & DoF (Depth of Field):
This means you can now experience glorious self shadowing around objects, which looks really great with A Link Between Worlds's fantasy art style. Try it out by doing the following:
* Set your game view to "Single" in Citra.
* Set your resolution to 10x in the Graphics Settings in Citra.
* Press the "HOME" button on your keyboard, this will bring up the ReShade UI.
* Check the "MXAO" box in the list of effects.
* Go to the "Advanced" tab in ReShade and check the box next to the depth buffer in the list with the highest value (it should be a very high number while all others are 0). This number will change constantly, but don't worry it's supposed to do that!
* You're done. Have fun!

There is a 4K version available, if your computer can handle it. The 1080p version is smaller in file size and requires less RAM, but doesn't look quite as nice. You can download both and test which one works best for you, if you want! :)

(Only available for use with the Citra 3DS emulator, the texture pack does not work on real 3DS consoles).

So im having an issue with clicking the "home" button in citra, its a locked keybind and set to "B" but when i press it i cant access the menu. any thoughts?

Hi Rafael! Many Dark World textures aren't fully completed yet and I've also encountered an issue where textures in the Dark World don't display correctly unless processed in a very specific manner, which takes quite a lot of extra time to perform for each and every texture. I hope you understand! An update with Dark World textures will come shortly!
Hello there. I would like to know why the dark world doesn't have 4K textures, the ground, some monsters, even the inverted triangle on the loading screen looks vanilla to me. Thanks.

That's not intentional, but I think I know what the cause could be! Try this: 1. Enable "Linear Filtering" inside of the Citra graphics settings. This should heavily reduce the aliasing artifacts. And 2. Disable the "DoF" (Depth of Field) in the ReShade menu by pressing the "Home" key on your keyboard to open it while the game is running, and then unchecking the box for DoF (and tilt shift, if it's enabled). Let me know if this works!
hey there - I've noticed on my side that there seems to be a lot of Aliasing and the hearts are quite blurry. any thoughts? (comparatively to your demo video / screenshots)
