TUTORIAL // creating interesting & eye-catching reference studies
🕑 Added 2023-10-06 09:00:03 +0000 UTCHello patrons! I am back again with a new tutorial! This one is based on a request that I got in the discord server, and it's about how to make a reference study interesting and eye catching - basically more than just a copy of the reference image. I personally always struggle with the habit of simply copying my reference image, so for those of you who struggle with similar issues, I hope you'll find this tutorial helpful!
As always, here's a cheat sheet with the most essential information about this tutorial. There's also a PDF version with clickable links at the bottom of this post.
Here are some additional tutorials that you might find helpful for this topic:
โข EXERCISES FOR IMPROVING YOUR SKILLS: This tutorial elaborates on the idea of starting a drawing session with an area of focus in mind, in order to maximize our learning process.
โข CONSTRUCTING FACES & EXPRESSIONS: This tutorial talks about which shapes I use to construct a face.
โข SCULPTING WITH COLOR: This tutorial elaborates more on the process of adding color to a sketch, specifically the process of sculpting detail out of a mix of random colors.
I hope you enjoy this video! The subtitled version is coming right up after this postโจ
