Closing the tier doesn't change the pledge amount of the patrons.
What Kagenza said is how it works. The deletion of the tier doesn't get rid of the pledge amount.
For me the $50 remained as a custom pledge without a tier, I had to manually switch to a new tier to avoid being charged it again.
