I'm really glad you're loving this show. It gets so much better and of course eventually you're going to run into slow pacing and blueballing with cliffhangers. It is worth it trust me.

That's actually incorrect. Shanks said it was the South Pole, while Buggy said the North Pole, the underlying joke being that Buggy was wrong.

A cute detail about Luffy's "sense" of direction--when young Buggy and Shanks were fighting over whether the north pole or south pole was colder, Shanks' answer was that the north pole was colder. So probably young Luffy internalized "north is colder" from Shanks 😂 seeing Usopp's arc again has been so fun with yall!
