That’s a good question David, as someone with long fingers, I haven’t personally had the issue, but have taught countless students who do. Of course it’s helpful to massage, heat, exercise and stretch your hands before and after playing, but I would say that posture, thumb placement and elbow positioning are the keys to making the most of your finger length. I’ll dream up a little video to help explain this concept further.

Any suggestions how to work on stretching short fingers to reach across four frets?
