Behind the scenes; contest EP2 I'm getting there
🕑 Added 2021-02-10 11:34:21 +0000 UTCHi Guys! I'm getting closer with this invention for Creality's contest. I'm currently printing the next iteration and once the principle works reliably I'm going to replace the main board. Please let me know what you think of the design so far and if you have any suggestions of how to improve it further. Thanks a lot for the suggestions you've already given and thanks for your support! Have a great day!

Hi Jón Schone! Just joined your cause! Really love the out of the box thinking and I'm wondering if you have a BOM list for the multi-Extruder contest project you plan to release?

those Dutch curse words... so familiar...
It looks like the ramps don't require that much force to get it switching so the X-motor can handle it. I just managed to get it working with the springs on both sides! It's stable, but the build volume is reduced by a lot. I'm going to fix this soon with the next iteration.
Hi Jon, must the switching of the heads be done from below (by that ramp-like solution you showed us)? Or could you also flip the carriage by ramming it from the left or right with some kind of stop blocks?
So, since I originally planned to modify my Ender frame, but it evolved into building an entirely new printer instead, do you think they’ll let me submit that? I did name it in their honor, “Endgame, the Creality Killer”. 🤣 And it is sort of CR-10’ish. I’m sure most everyone would appreciate the “I don’t even have the ability to level my bed because it doesn’t need it” mod.
