PETER BARBER - Keep Your Friends Close Reaction... Reaction?
🕑 Added 2024-08-27 05:37:22 +0000 UTCWhat is this, some kinda react-ception?
Mason told me that Peter's reaction to my favorite Epic song was, coincidentally, one of Mason's favorites to edit, and one of Peter's funniest reactions. So, I decided to check it out on Camera! If you don't already know Peter Barber, his Ruthlessness reaction premieres in just a few days so that would be a great time to go check out his content, and then go back through the rest of his content from there! He's taught ME a few things about this show in his videos!!!

As I can't keep paying my subscription this is going to be the last patreon video I'm going to watch. And what a fun video it was! Bye! I'll keep watching on YouTube! π

Were you aware that Elpenor is actually sung by Luke Holt? I just found it funny that Peter made the comparison to Zeus being the only other deep/dark voice... only for it to be the same person π

They've talked about it in their videos before π€·

Personally, I believe Peter Barber defines himself as an operatic singer - so thatβs why heβs incapable of constantly dropping that reference. It is his area of expertise. AND the reason I am a Patreon supporter of you, Casper, OAR, and Peter. Youβre correct, multiple viewpoints expand appreciation. Thank you for this reaction to a reaction. It was fun.

I did not know this fact. Thanks for telling me

Yes ik, that's what I meant. If they were just extensions of Aeolous they wouldn't be able to live independently of him
Phoenix Mackenzie
Lotus eaters are winions that got stuck on the island (they ate the fruit and got stuck)
Phoenix Mackenzie
He(and Casper) are aware that Jorge changed that
Fen Hasselbarth
Okay, this is the slightest spoiler for the actual Odyssey. So in the actual story, Polities doesn't die at the hands of Polyphemus. Jorge just decides that's where he wanted him to die. In the actual story he either dies at the hands of Scylla or Zeus
Doriima
Small correction - Hermes is Odysseus' great grandfather, Odysseus is one eighth god. A... Demi-semi-hemi God?
Nika
My interpretation of the Winions is that they're their own creatures (considering they can become Lotus Eaters too) but 100% partners in crime with Aeolous who definitely incentivized this betrayal and then acts smug about it.

A buffoon indeed

You're so right, ick. And Ody doesn't have Athena's sharp wit or grace backing him anymore. The divine armor around him and his crew is gone, but he hasn't told them that either, he just takes all the credit for their success in Troy. Then he says 'Deal!' to Aeolus without asking 'What's the catch?' first? In the words of Casper Fox, he's being a buffoon.
CF0298
Not only that when the crew are telling him through the voice of eurylochus that just going to any god expecting help would almost certainly go poorly (which I'm saying they were 100% right about because going to aeolus created more problems than it solved) he tells them I'm king don't ever doubt me again.
Kory Misun
I completely agree. The seeds of doubt were probably sown in Troy after the Infant Incident, and now the Cyclops Saga has happened...? Odysseus hasn't been talking to anyone, so why would they completely trust him?
Kory Misun
I've never been so early! Good time of day or night, Mortius and Mason! Ody is actually confirmed to have TWO great-great grandparents, but I can't name who they are, it's Too Good!
CF0298
I always thought the Winions "Its treasure" thing was something Aeolus told them to do because she was purposefully setting Odysseus up to fail since she gives him a test of trust after he shot down the only voice of concern the crew had. I figured she always knew someone on that crew, Eurylochus or otherwise, would betray odysseus because he pushed everyone away from him.

i love that song so much. but also I love reaction channels so much because I love how your brains catch on to things and me who loves music and learning about music in a way that college classes really isn't teaching us but I love learning so much through music
Doriima
Yay! I'm definitely keen to see what you think of his comments.
