I saw Hadestown completely blind. I was in New York for a few days and had the chance to see a Broadway show and a friend of mine reccomended Hadestown. To this day it has stayed with me and I am so excited when I get to enjoy other people experiencing it for the first time.

so unrelated to this show and this story specifically, if you want more harmonies from the fates when this is all over, the main cast of hadestown did a christmas album for some reason? Lots of covers of traditional songs with all these voices (and very good as a result). Could be a nice breather between shows?

The orchestra is on-stage, which is awesome! If possible you should definitely watch a recording of the actual show, even if you don’t react. There are multiple moments that hit so much harder on stage

Hi, I'm a relatively new member and I've been silently lurking so I had no idea this was coming! Hadestown is, by FAR, my favorite musical so I'm very excited and the wait between reactions might drive me a little insane AHAHA I promise I'm very normal about this musical. I have so much trivia packed away in my head about this musical I can't wait to share it. And I do highly recommend that you should see if you can find someone you trust to find you high quality no spoiler images of the cast and stage. The stage itself is gorgeous and is doing so much with so little. And while the animatics are trying, the whole effect of everyone in costume is lost. The chorus is all in dark greys and blacks, jackets and plaid and beat up shirts and jeans. It really makes it feel like "times are hard". And Hermes' blue suit alone is a work of art in my opinion. And, since you're working from animatics rather than a stage recording (I'm not forever bitter that there isn't one), would you like to know more about the choreography you're missing? This show has some truly amazing choreography that its a real shame to miss but I don't want to spoil it if its something you plan to look up in your own time.

Hadestown! This show is one of my favorites, ever since I found the pre-broadway cast recording. I hope you love it as much as I do! By the way, the lyric you missed in Road to Hell is "But we're gonna sing it even so."

One of my favorite musicals! If you ever get the chance to see it in person, I highly recommend! The Broadway stage has a ring turn table floor like Hamilton Also this musical has **layers ** the more to listen to it the more you pick up!

btw! when anaïs mitchell wrote hadestown it was originally a radio show and when it was adapted for stage they tried their best to keep that simplicity alive!
