Rewatching the reactions and it’s so good. And I did want to say maybe give Take Me Back to Eden a couple of more listens just because it is definitely a song that needs a couple of listens to really become a favorite and appreciate it

Also I'm definitely with you - I think the reason you sometimes hear 'love' and sometimes hear 'hurt' is that both words are being sung at the same time and layered together so that the word an individual listener will hear might change depending on what their ear/brain picks up on. Which is a really cool way of demonstrating how easily one thing can shift into another based on perception, or one can mask as the other in abusive situations.

This song is easily my favorite on the album (even though all of the songs are so good). I’ve been in this situation and my gods does this song bring all that pain back. I cried the first few times listening to it, and still do from time to time. Vessel is so amazing at portraying that emotion with his voice!

I want to say I know it because of Jesus Christ Superstar, but on review the song "Gethsemane" doesn't actually have the word in it either... I did study the musical as part of a very brief Religious Music course though so that was probably it.

Gethsemane is easily one of my favorite songs on the new album. It's SO good and so heartbreaking cuz I've been there myself. Blaming myself a bit for my abusers misdeeds. Making excuses for them. And add in that starts incredible guitar and drum playing that sounded right out of an Animals as Leaders song. Oooh this is such a good song.
