Bravo again! Personally, I like the key change. I agree with Kris Ivy that it sounds more frustrated (and sad) rather than angry, maybe a 70/30 split. In my experience, a lot of people are angry while being, or because of being frustrated, even in sorrow, and I think it works well at this point in the song, regardless of if people hear it as anger or frustration. Both emotions, I think, would be reasonably expected from the character at this point. Yes, laments are usually sorrowful, but there are usually other emotions involved. It's hard to put my explanation into words, so I hope you understand what I am trying to say. Anyway, that's my two cents worth. You can be proud of whichever version you release. Thank you!

I liked the second one better due to the pure emotion behind it. I can “see” your performance. I saw the “strain” in your voice as pure frustration. He hasn’t found a resolution within himself, so it worked.
