The eerie, swirly opening seems to pull me into the void of a black hole, especially when there’s a sucking voice termination. Then Cesar, Anthony, Geoff and the guys begin trading off leads with Layne going over the top. Eli’s rock high tenor is followed with Geoff’s otherworldly deep notes (held to obscene lengths). … yes, just another VP song…

Layne actually did quite a bit of the arrangement to give it the “Voiceplay sound.” When I asked him if Eli liked the changes, he said it wasn’t really Eli’s vision, but that Eli came around to it being better for Voiceplay. (Besides - Layne would have been real busy if he had to supple a trio of violins. Come to think of it, it would have been Fiddlers on the Roof!)
