Because why would he waste one of his wishes on telling his family he's alive when they will find out when he comes back, like it's important for his family to know he's alive but not important enough to waste a wish from a god

You are forgetting that he got like 20 favor out of this while ordeal, which is a lot. Also why are you judging it only based on the past? By boosting a "less useful" affinity, he has made it actually useful and I totallt except that he will start using space magic a lot in the near future. Obviously, why else would the author set it up like that if he wasnt gonna use it?

The current deal is way to vague, imo older one was better as it was promising less. If he is able to grant any 3 wishes that will not require 3rd part of ragain energy, then why he can't contact Kai's family. He could sketch thier apperance and tell thier location / or send info mentaly. The criterium for finding a place where 4/5 distinct people gather should confirm almost 100% that it's them. Big hunter with young girl apprentice + two married peral hunters and hunters wife. Could tell town location and his home location even if vague should be enough. Now if its take into account that he needs to comunicate with god for it to grant any wish should be in scope of 1/3rd power without problem. So why Zervathi cant pass message?

But then he can't use these gifts for 50 years and from the gods perspective this is better for him because Kai might die before claiming his wishes. I feel though these wishes are gonna be used for transportation then anything else. E.g. kai now has an easy way to the mainland whenever he wants now.

Just ignore the times when the space affinity has been useful then like giving Kai a warning something is teleporting. Also it's stated throughout the book the higher your affinity in space and the higher your mana the more you can do, so we won't see much of space until he's yellow grade at least as space is one of the mana hungriest affinities. And he accepted the deal because this is a divine being, he believed, could kill him with a snap of his elven fingers.

I like both bargains though i thought u would tweak it into a reward should he survive the 2 Years especially since Zervathi didnt seem to think him capable of survival therefore making it an easy Concession on his part.

whats a quest without giving us a shiny at the end, i mean he got a boost to an affinity he's useless with and doesn't do anything with and keeps secret because its so 'good' i dont understand why he accepted bargain in first place, his space affinity has been so irrelevant, it woulda made so much sense to take a risk like that for something relevant to his character.

I think the only part that's low on mana is the prison / temple where he was locked up. The mana drained from Z is probably expelled into the rest of the hidden realm, which would explain how it can sustain so many yellow beasts. And some of that Mana ended up trickling into the ruins in the real world.

This now seems too exploitable for Kai, no? Like e.g. lessons from a god don't take much power but are worth a fuck ton, or he could save a wish for 50 years after he gets out and get something ridiculous

I liked the original aswell, specially since we will have time skips and wont even get a proper chance to see what events lead to the using of said favors. But no one typically cares about my opinion

I liked the original bargain, it felt more realistic. This new deal feels out of character for the God based on what we have seen so far.

Does bring up an interesting point though. If he's limited to being in the Ruins/area to get his wishes granted I guess he's not heading the mainland anytime soon?

Affinity alone is just the basis of being able to do anything with it. I would have expected Kai to bargain for help acquiring a 'green or blue' Space Skill; something he would not be able to acquire without a teacher/Master. Though I suppose that's still possible with the new bargain. Just have to use up one of his wishes. Such things take time to learn though... would have been perfect while he was trapped.

Congratulations on publishing your book!! That is an amazing accomplishment! I was rereading 231 chapter and I do like the new update. It makes it feel like he’ll get something more out of it. He wasn’t entirely screwed over. My only problem I have is the fact that Kai should have had a choice. He could have waited. Nothing said he had to choose at that exact time. It would make more sense if that was the only blessing Zervathi could bestow at the time so there were no choices to give but he said it is the best blessing he has. Who is Zervathi to decide which blessing is the best?

Congrats on publishing book one. You mentioned cringing at the RR version of it. Did anything of substance change (plot, characters, Kai's progression), or was it basically just polish and cleanup edits?

When you talked about tweaking the bargain I was thinking that the deity of space was gonna throw in some space lessons considering that they are stuck together for two years. That way Kai will get some ancient civilization knowledge and a training arc. Like what else is he gonna do if not training with all the yellow tier threats and plants.
