Emotional Dissection - [ Personal work ]
🕑 Added 2022-02-15 15:35:00 +0000 UTCThis is a piece I finished a while ago, but kinda sat on for a bit given its particular aesthetic. It's also a very personal piece of art I made during a moment where I had a bit of a reckoning with myself, over how I process (or don't) my feelings.
For much of my adult life I've been the kind of person who rationalises their emotions through a sense of self-awareness that looks to manage, control and excise feelings out into the archive. Then recently I saw a lot of this insistence that you "feel your own feelings!" and I realised I didn't know how.
This piece is kind of a statement on that habit - the dispassionate surgery of emotions I perform ever time I get overwhelmed or start feeling like I can't self-regulate. It's something I don't yet know how to fix, but I'm looking into and so I decided to paint this in that moment I decided it was something I wanted to work on.

Macabre, abstract and very emotional. I love it Onyrica. I understand where you're coming from about your emotions. I think it happens to all of us, when Sometimes, we're feeling something but have no explanation for it.
