Stories and thoughts blog
🕑 Added 2022-02-23 14:07:37 +0000 UTCHey, I'm still AFK for a few more days, but I thought about writing something here.
I brought this sketchbook with me, but this one got to be much more special as it's almost full of comic story notes.
Some really messy scripts and ideas fill more than half of this book, and just a few sketches, made me think about my decision about getting better at making comics and writing stuff.
Idk if it's a good idea or not, but it's my goal after spending a few years trying out many other things (sculpting, motion graphics, commissions, trying to write rpg books etc), at the end making stories in the medium I know more feels like what truly makes me happy, that's why I think it makes sense.
I've never been good making decisions, I'm not even good being truly focused in the stories I want to tell, I know many people likes Nova a lot, but my heart needs to tell another story before continue, and my stubborn part needs to finish Derideal at all costs.
I guess that way of making things is what could truly make me an artist, I haven't been following commercial success, I've just been me in terms of art... My comics are important for me because is the only way I feel I can make something important and hopefully give readers truly a part of myself.
Life has been feeling strange since last year, my job feels unstable and despite I've tried to stay here for a secure income and healthcare, it gets more difficult the more I think about it, only way to go is to switch off brain and work in automatic... I used to enjoy working in advertising more when I felt I still had some growing possibilities, now I'm almost back at the point I started, making me difficult to continue and enjoying being at this company, I wish the path of being a self-sustained artist was more clear, but I'm not sure if I got that much confidence in my work for now, still I'm at the edge of just quitting and see what happens.
🥂
