Let's see if we can make a guess on mom's identity. Her writing skill is her highest skill, she thinks the general might recognize her, and she seems to have a fancy sword. I'm guessing she is either a well connected or influential government official who had to go into hiding or she is the bastard child of someone prominent. Thanks for the chapter!
