Preview ๐ Mounted Teutonic Sergeants
🕑 Added 2024-03-09 15:21:06 +0000 UTCHi everyone, here's a preview of the Mounted Teutonic Sergeants, coming soon for March:
In medieval religious military orders such as the Templars or the Teutonic Knights, sergeants were integral members of the organization, playing crucial roles in supporting its activities. These individuals, while lacking the noble status of knights, fulfilled various responsibilities within the order's hierarchy. Sergeants were typically recruited from commoner backgrounds, often coming from peasant families or artisan trades. Although they did not undergo the rigorous training associated with knighthood, they received military instruction and were proficient in combat skills. Many joined the orders seeking opportunities for social advancement, adventure, or religious devotion.
Within the order's structure, sergeants occupied a middle tier between the knights and the lay brothers or serving brothers. They reported to the command of the knights and were responsible for overseeing the activities of lower-ranking members. In times of conflict, sergeants served as skilled fighters, contributing to battles and other military campaigns. Despite not holding the noble status of knights, sergeants could still earn recognition and advancement within the order based on their service and merit. Some rose to positions of leadership, commanding smaller units or overseeing specific functions within the order. Others were granted privileges or landholdings as a reward for their contributions.
Sergeants constituted a significant portion of the membership in medieval military orders, often outnumbering the knights themselves. Their contributions were essential to the order's success, as they provided the manpower needed to support military campaigns, maintain fortifications, and manage the organization's affairs.
For now I have 3 poses but I plan to release a full modular kit with 10 horses and 10 riders. I plan to have them available to download by the end of the next week.
Have a good weekend.
