Great idea for escalating the situation! Greedy ones in party will have pretty much struggle in their heads :)

I will use it like when the dragon is near death, it will try to destroy the ground around the treasure pile, and the whole area will start collapsing. The dragon will try to escape, and the players will have a choice to try to grab as many treasure as possible, or chase and finish the dragon. It will be so much fun. :D
