MOB OF THE DEAD - TOWER TRAP 02/02/24
🕑 Added 2024-02-02 19:30:02 +0000 UTCThis week for Mob I've been working on finishing off the functionality for all the traps, namely the tower trap! I had this in the map a while back but recently completed the functionality for the Rocket Launcher upgrade.
I have buffed the rocket launcher for the tower as in the original map it doesn't do very much damage, the rocket is now a 1-shot until round 25 where it starts to drop off. The tower trap is my favourite of the 3 but in the original map it is severely underpowered, the rocket launcher variant only 1-shots till about round 10 where it drops off dramatically which just isn't worth doing as you need to spend an afterlife every time you want to activate it. I had the idea to create a quest that could make the rockets a permanent upgrade but I'm not sure it's something that'd really be worth the effort to go through a whole quest for, I've got a lot of side quest ideas for this map though and I think it could be cool to include this trap in one of them in some capacity.
The docks is a relatively dangerous place to be on Mob as the play-space is very narrow so I'd like this trap to be a bigger lifeline than it is on the original but I'll have to see how it performs in playtesting, if my buff proves too strong I can always tone it down later!
Thank You!

This is actually quite a good idea, I think I'll do something like this! Can always have a sound que so players know when it's been upgraded too

Looks great! Maybe have it so that the RPG upgrade is permanent after it's activated 1-3 times or something tied to normal gameplay? Something unobtrusive like Origins' golden shovel reward.
