Progress Update: ALL ANIMATIONS ACCOMPLISHED

Acts I, II, and III are DONE.
Act IV is ALMOST DONE. (art is done, just need to put spritesheets into the game)

Rough Estimate: AwA is 80% done, and will launch 6 weeks from now.
You know what's "funny"? For the last several Progress Updates, I've been making progress at exactly 10% per three weeks. However, I always hoped/rationalized that my progress would get faster as I picked up momentum.
Which was why I first estimated AwA would launch start-of-August... then end-of-August... and now, mid-September... which is what I should have estimated from the very beginning, if I took my "10% per 3 weeks" rate seriously.
Moral of the story: my Progress Updates are way more accurate than I am.

- Act IV: Spritesheet integration
- All acts: final sound effects
- Auto-save & Continue Game feature
- Credits (ok, there's more art & animation for this)
- A page with some mental health resources (focused on anxiety)
- A not-terrible process for fans to translate/localize the game
- FINAL ROUND OF PLAYTESTS
- Polish polish polish!
- Presskit (Videos, GIFs)
- RELEASE INTO THE WILD
- Mad rush to submit it to the 2020 Independent Games Festival

Aside #1: During my downtime, I try to learn new stuff. In the last 3 weeks, I read Arbital's full guide to Bayes' Theorem, discovered McAdams' psychological model of Life Stories (pdf), and read a bunch of papers about Eudaimonia (vs Hedonia) and empirical studies on Meaning In Life. I may or may not make edu-things about these in the future, but they'll definitely influence how I make sense of the world, humanity, and myself.
Aside #2: I found a room to rent! Thank you all so much to everyone who offered to help re: my desperate request in the last Progress Update.

I'm doing a prototype of a 2D platformer centering a wheelchair user {with a funny twist to make people think about ableism/inspiration porn} and i've been sitting on this for 2 years reading about scope creep & playing short games & calling it research lolol if you know any fellow wheelchair user game makers pls send them my way! Love your updates, it's really helping me get a sense of what I have to do & super motivating & it's kicking my butt to continue my own project - thank you for existing ^_^ (about to start working on my 1st game fuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuu - just posted a msg in one of the Mtl game groups to find someone to collab with aaaaaaaaaaaaaah) so glad you found a room!
