v2.8.0 - Cloning UPDATE
🕑 Added 2024-09-09 20:22:28 +0000 UTC(I thought the demand for this would drop after the website's new duplicate feature. Since they have all the back end, they can do it instantly. But turns out it doesn't duplicate after 999 messages. So it still has a purpose to serve. Alongside chat imports of course.)
A new FASTER method of cloning chats is added. Kept the old one as well just in case
Added options and the message list to clone up to a certain point or a range
NEW METHOD:
1000 messages = around 13 minutes

Progress looks better and is more informative
I guess more vulnerable to internet connection problems but I will address that later
CLARIFICATION:
Many people came to me complaining how failed/interrupted cloning destroyed the original but that's a misunderstanding and it's completely my fault I didn't explain it clearly.
What happens is that the URL of the chat page doesn't have the chat id unless you go to the chat from the history. That's why it brings you the latest interracted chat, which is the clone. The original chat is in the history and it's never touched. New method updates the URL so when you refresh you are still in the original chat. It also has link to the original

Continue your chat option or something? Only the latest interracted chat is displayed there. Clone is the latest interracted.

Ok, thanks :), I just have one question, I would like to know if when cloning the chat, two chats should appear at the beginning of my character's AI, the cloned chat and the one that was not cloned (original), right? But only the cloned one appears and the non-cloned one does not appear, the non-cloned (original) does not appear at the beginning of my character AI, should both appear or just the cloned one?

It didn't. It's in the history. Refresh took you to the new chat.

I'm using the old version of Character AI, I cloned one of my chats only the last 30 messages but the original chat has disappeared, how can I fix this?.

You click on Link to clone right? What do you see when you go to the clone? And were you using new version or the old?

Why can't I clone my chats? I've been trying to clone my chat several times now and the cloned chat doesn't appear, only the original one appears.

The chat import doesn't import the right messages it just says (OOC: Just say Hello, nothing else. Hello. over and over
