CAI Tools re-make COMPLETE
🕑 Added 2025-04-30 18:03:45 +0000 UTCUpdate: CAI Tools v2.10.4 and Chatbot Manager are now compatible and won't cause infinite loading in chat.
CAI Tools didn't get an update for some time. At some point it seemed impossible to keep maintaining the spaghetti code, so I coded it from scratch, Chatbot Manager was a great idea. I spoke about it in the previous post, now it's time for change logs. (I will update CAI Tools later)

Fixes:
- Message backgrounds now work on Classic and Dense chat styles
- Preload Swipes works better, but now called Experimental due to one remaining issue
- Mass Swipe no longer has page breaking until Refresh issue, if it fails, you can continue from there, manually swiping instantly
- Big avatars alignment fixed
- Re-made chat clone/import again, hopefully this time it works properly
- Background Manager now uses thumbnails to fix optimization issues
- Import Character has better content management
- Janitorai greeting generator now uses "Name in chat" instead of character name if it's available. Also persona list is ordered alphabetically when it asks you to choose
- Export/Import settings now allow more than 300 MB of data
- Tavern & Obabooga options mixing character and user fixed
- Headers (# text) in message are now proportionally affected by font sizes, and font colors applies to them
- Foolproof chatbot detection, also removing an extension permission with this method
- Overall better error messages and error handling, not leaving you in the dark
Changes:
- Added Greeting List to save and use whenever you wish
- Unfiltered option for Greeting Generator (uses Janitor ai)
- new Dice roll feature
- Font colors now have opacity option
- Backgrounds can be set for individual characters or default for all now. Opacity and Blur can also be set separately for each character
- Avatar sizes are now plenty. 0 to hide, 1 for default, 2-7 for bigger avatars
What's missing?
- Memory Manager. I know many love it, it will come back soon. I didn't have time to make a better one, nor copy it as is.
- Roleplay Backgrounds. Many people were using it for separate backgrounds for certain characters, I gave that option now. Sure it can be used for roleplays too. I haven't decided if I will remake it in the future.
I have a page long TODO list, waiting for my return. Fixes and all. Please do write everything that comes to your mind, I read everything.

I will add the same system when I come back. I would love to have your support during my conscription, after all, only thanks to you I got it from 6 months to 1 month. CAI Tools extension is not updated, Chatbot Manager is. You can cancel for a month but CAI Tools premium would be an issue. Or you can send me a message for refund of 1 month, I will read it later.
Also Chatbot Manager's free features and CAI Tools' free features can be a great combo. Character search at your fingertips, library acting as your vault etc. So no need to uninstall it, ever.

Any plan to make this for CHAI? I subscribed when I used C.Ai but now that I use chai I miss it.

I know the earlier error, haven't be able to fix it for some reason. I can fix the janitor one easily. If it doesn't support back to back, I can still combine them in one message. I thought I set it up percectly but apparently not. In a week or so, I will handle it.

(I know you won't be able to get to these until you get back! I'm just dropping them off now because I just noticed them and I have squirrel brain. π ) I'm not sure if this counts as a bug or not, so I wasn't sure if I should report it as one - I kind of suspect it might be something on cAI's end because a similar thing happens every now and then even in normal chatflow, but when I'm trying to import chats using either the old version in cAI Tools or the version in Chatbot Manager, I end up with posts that don't match what's actually in the history. (I have the leftover shell messages thing going on with the new version in cAI Tools, is why I haven't been using that one for it. π ) It LOOKS like what's happening is that the posts do get edited, but cAI switches back to the unedited placeholder post (I rewound one to check, and the edited post IS in the swipes), which is pretty much the same thing that's going on with the "not the swipe I chose" issue in regular chatflow, so I don't know if there'd even be a way to correct for it, but I figured I'd mention it in case you'd want to know! Importing cAI chats to Janitor is also kind of wonky because if there are places where the character posted multiple times in a row on cAI, those posts start alternating between the character and the user (so if it has Char: "One." Char: "Two." User: "Three." it ends up as Char: "One." User: "Two." Char: "Three." ...and then the entire rest of the chat is off π΅βπ« ). I'm guessing that one might be a consequence of Janitor not really seeming to be set up for multiple posts so I totally understand if that one's even more out of your hands; it was just also among the things I caught tonight!

I tried doing it, but turning it to 1 or removing it, all just resulted in error. Maybe it was for that character only, maybe I did it wrong. I will try so don't worry. It might be delayed though, I am gone in a few days. I can easily add bigger avatar sizes, maybe alongside it.

Hi Irsat, I want to say thank you for the updates. There is one little thing that might need a little extra tuning regarding Chatbot Manager, maybe. It's a minor thing but something I enjoy. The issue is this. When using Chatbot Manager on character.ai, character PFPs no longer play if their profile pictures are ".gif" or ".webp". When using CAI Tools, their PFPs would animate. Take this Wanda Maximoff bot as an example: "https://character.ai/chat/4MqG8Y_qzTn6PZKCeMJ_8irQ8hcSs-0-jn_m2y8KYYg". When using CAI Tools, the character's profile picture would animate. Switch to Chatbot Manager and the character's profile picture does not animate. If not using CAI Tools or Chatbot Manager, right click on the character's image and click "open image in new tab", change the "0" at the end of the URL to a "1" to see that the image does indeed animate. Perhaps a toggle could be implemented for people who would prefer it not animated as well? I know it's not a priority feature but it's something I wanted to point out, I will live if it's never addressed. Anyways, I enjoy the larger avatar sizes when using Chatbot Manager but if you can spare a moment to re-enable animated PFPs (where applicable), it would be greatly appreciated! (P.S. how big can you make avatar sizes go? Bigger is better for me, lol.)
