Voting for January Patreon Short
🕑 Added 2019-12-24 20:03:42 +0000 UTCSince the new year is coming up, I feel it's a good time to try something new so that things don't get stale. Plus, my creativity is pulling me in new directions and I want to see what happens if we chase after it.
While I was writing Tritonia's Secret, I thought of multiple directions that this series can go in. Then I realized that I could do a Choose Your Own Adventure story, based on your votes, going forward from here.
I'd work to write each installment so that you can still understand what's going on even if you skip some of the stories. That said, the choices you make through voting will affect the story going forward. And it won't always be clear what the full effect is, so there would be surprises along the way.
Some exciting things to keep in mind:
1. The stories won't always be from Persephone's perspective. I have plans for telling stories from other characters' points of view.
2. There's definitely going to be more sexy transformations. (Already have plans for canine, equine, and more!)
3. I have lots of pulp sci-fi stuff I want to play with: alternate universes, Russian spies, space travel, alien invasions, the lost city of Atlantis, deep sea adventures, and SCP-like objects that cause mayhem, terror, and wonder.
4. This new format will sometimes lead to more than one vote a month. Depending on what you pick in the first vote, it will change the content of the second one.
5. There will be more neat surprises in this format. Up until this point, I've been giving little story summaries that describe an entire story. In this format, I'll have elements that you voted on and put them together into something awesome that fits into this series.
6. I tend to do a lot of discovery writing, so I don't always know what a story is going to be before I have it written. My goal is to make sure to give y'all enough choices that you have an effect on the story without having things planned to the point that I struggle to write it.
7. If y'all don't like this after trying it for a month or two, I'm happy to switch back to the old ways of doing things.
The sorts of choices you'll make:
Which characters hook up/develop relationships?
Who gets transformed next?
What object does Charlemagne's unit have to hunt down next?
When a character has to choose which door to open first, do they open the left one the right one?
Some character design aspects like: does character X get a canine cock, a dragon cock, or a hybrid cock? Spots or stripes? etc.
Decisions that are plot-related, like whether a character keeps a secret or decides to obey/disobey the rules.
When multiple kinks are a possibility in a story, I'll open up a vote for kinks.
Due to the multiverse shenanigans in this series, you'll even get to choose which characters from my other stories get cameos. I already have an idea for the first cameo and it will be a fun surprise when I work it in.
Now to give you an idea of what's going to be in future Tritonia stories.
Character Teasers:
Charlemagne (Cheryl) - The forty-something female leader of the Pan-Oceanic Safety Congress: a tall and strong mixed-race woman from the Netherlands with a heavy Dutch accent. Her real name is classified, everyone started calling her Charlemagne because...
Pepper - A thirty-year-old auburn-haired female marine who is a dive specialist with a big heart. She's a competent engineer and soldier who you'd want by your side when things get rough. Originally, she was in school for her oceanic engineering degree, but that all changed when...
Gillon (Gill) - A forty-two-year-old butler-like British guy who has worked on Tritonia and other AI computer systems. Cleaning, making food and beverages for the others, and surveying the entire base for signs of damage is how he de-stresses. His parents both died in a mysterious accident where...
Tsubumi (Boom) - a twenty-three-year-old Japanese woman who is a savant when it comes to sound. She plays anything percussion with incredible skill and can make a marimba or other like instrument do amazing things. She has been obsessed with sonar and [redacted] ever since she was a child.
Alphonse (Alpha) - A twenty-seven-year-old second generation immigrant from Trinidad who often dances while he hacks. Navigation, ship systems, and computer security are all right up his alley. After many years arguing with his large family, they've finally started to accept that he is...
Kirkii - An [redacted due to spoilers for Tritonia's Secret] geneticist who devised the process that transformed Persephone. She is brilliant and highly regarded by everyone on the team.
Septimus - A fifty-year-old anthro [redacted] geneticist that is Kirkii's right hand man and the anthro that helped create the process that transformed Persephone. Charlemagne has known him the longest because they met while they were both...
Tritonia - An AI unlike anything that came before her. Her humanity and importance to the rest of the team cannot be understated. There's one aspect of her creation that is a closely guarded secret that only Charlemagne and Gill are privy to.
Persephone - A twenty-eight-year-old thief and security systems expert who has recently transformed into an anthro herm shark hybrid. She can now dive to the depths of the ocean without a suit and Charlemagne is having trouble stopping herself from coming up with uses for Persephone's unique form.
Non-Prosaic Object Teasers:
I'll create official write-ups of these objects as this series progresses. These are just one paragraph summaries.
NPO 4604-552-1 (Blue Pepper Corn): When this peppercorn is placed in the mouth, one can only perceive light in the 450-500nm range. If it's swallowed, it reappears back in the tin that holds it in exactly twenty-eight minutes. Subjects report it tastes like a water-logged bagel.
NPO 6295-370-6 (Not-Quite Inner Self Revealer) - A spherical silver-colored Christmas ornament that is activated by [redacted]. When activated, over the course of a few days, transforms the subject's body to match their inner ideal with one exception, no matter what form they take, they are always a [redacted] by the time the transformation is complete.
NPO 8842-462-2 (Time-Stopped Pizza Slice) - This large wedge-shaped slice of a taco pizza does not experience the passage of time. It cannot be destroyed, it does not decay, and no vibrations or other physical processes can pass through it. EM waves that would normally not interact with a piece of pizza pass right through while all others are perfectly reflected making this piece of pizza look like it's made out of metal. It's recently been theorized that this object may experience the flow of time, albeit...
NPO 7359-185-7 (Claremont's Mirror) - Most of the time, this mirror is just a simple mirror, but every twelve minutes, the reflection in it is that of an alternate universe. It's important to look away from it when this happens or it will [redacted] whatever the viewer was focusing on in...
Which of these characters' backstories will get explored? Which of these characters will transform? What shenanigans will they get up to? Which items will wreak havoc on their lives? All this will be influenced by your votes.
Now it's time to vote: Do you want to try doing Persephone and Tritonia's story as a vote-driven Choose-Your-Own-Adventure-style story?

Midnight Pen: A pen that writes out excerpts from popular stories all throughout history and makes those around it act it out. The end results of such stories are permanent, but so far ultimately non lethal. Can cause transformations, and those under its control can still control themselves through cooperation. Under lock and key with no means to move the pen is harmless. Dream Mirror: Creates an exact copy of anyone whose image is reflected into it and projects it into the realm world. The copy acts like a highly obedient version of whoever it copies, but does not share the same memories as the person they've copied. Only one copy per person can exist at a single time and the copy will obey any and every order directed at them. Copies are indestructible last as long as they aren't exposed to sunlight or go 102 miles away from the mirror. The perfect Hot tub: a perfect hot tub that no one can leave of their own free will as it is perfect. Anyone who enters the hot tube enters a state of suspended existence in which they cannot die and will heal from the most grievous of wounds. The only issue is that it requires a memory wipe every time it's used to prevent those who've entered it from trying everything they can to get back in, going as far as killing others and plotting world domination.

Yea, It's alot easier to be the idea person than the work person. At the same time we're paying Zmey. Interesting idea for an object. Silly Slime: Covers whoever it comes in contact with and transforms them into slime, allowing them to shape change and flow into any pipes or vents. There is no returning to normal, but bodysuits can be made to cover the fact that they are made out of slime. A guide to perfect acting: the original manuscript copy of a guide to acting, basically pieced together inside a binder. Allows one to change their personality by reading the corresponding chapter. Reading the chapter on how to act excitable makes one have a more excitable personality and so on. Can be reversed by removing the memory of the lesson through other objects or reading another lesson that reverts their personality. Bodysuit Collar: putting this collar on turns you into a perfect bodysuit that can be worn by anyone, reshaping them into a perfect fit to impersonate the person who was transformed. the person transformed into the bodysuit remains completely aware of everything that's happening around them but is unable to move. Shrink/Grow Suit: A full body latex suit with an air valve. Putting this suit on allows one to grow and shrink their body by filling or letting out air through the valve. Fits any body size and can shrink one down to 7 1/2 inches, or grow them to 16 3/4 feet tall. Butches' collar: grants one the senses of a trained dog, with greater hearing and smell. Results in slow transformation and personality changes to anyone who wears it for more than an hour a day. Eventually leading them to becoming a eight foot tall herm dog girl with an aggressively dominant personality, with the desire to put the 'Bitch' Collar on another (most often any former girlfriend or boyfriend). The transformation can be reversed if after the butch, and bitch collars both transform two people into a couple and they choose to return back to normal, otherwise if they are happier as butch and bitch they will remain as so.

This sounds like an amazingly fun idea, and a great way to engage with your Patrons!
