Fun fact: the actor who played Gracchus (Derek Jacobi) played the emperor Claudius, who was briefly mentioned here, in an acclaimed TV mini series in the mid 70s.

A strong movie in every way. I'd forgotten how brilliant the cinematography was. It was praised for its depiction of ancient Rome, as well. Another 10/10 experience. And please don't give up on the salad, mate. Not all the Caesars were bad.

Joaquin Phoenix is alive. It was his younger brother River Phoenix who passed away . You mentioned in some of Juaquin's performances that he will be missed. He's alive. 🙂
