How to Discuss a Topic Nobody Wants to Talk About
🕑 Added 2022-10-24 08:00:05 +0000 UTCNo, I do not intend to write in detail about bidets here. I want these comments to be at least a little pleasant to read.
I will say this.
Way back in the 1990s, when I first saw a full-featured Japanese toilet on TV, I swore one day I would have one. A few years ago, when I got an advance from one of my books, I finally made it happen. It has now been in our home long enough for us to be thoroughly used to it, and I can tell you that of all of its surprising features, the one that most people comment on is the automatic lid. As you enter the restroom the lid rises, welcoming you to the future, and inviting you to go to the bathroom there.
The toilet does many other things, but that’s the one everyone talks about. I don’t know if it’s because it’s the only function they care to discuss, or the only one they aren’t too afraid to try. Either answer is amusing.

Yes, beating around the bush would be uncomfortable. Maybe it was on too strong a massage setting.

"The toilet does many other things" ... Six more frightening words cannot be imagined.
