How to Make It Clear That Something Is Not For You
🕑 Added 2022-05-02 08:00:04 +0000 UTCI enjoy being near water. I enjoy being out on boats. I enjoy not doing much of anything for hours on end. You'd think I'd like fishing. However, I don't enjoy catching fish, "cleaning" fish, cooking my own dinner, or eating food I myself cooked. That tips my scales rather decisively into the "anti-fishing" zone.
When I was in high school, the house I lived in was quite old. While it had all the modern plumbing one would expect, it also still had an outhouse out back. When we moved in, we were assured that the outhouse, "still worked."
First and foremost: I do not know, and hope I never find out, how an outhouse, "breaks."
Second: this supports my theory that the worse something is, the more durable it will be. That outhouse was awful and unpleasant the day it was made, and it remained that way despite the passage of time. Looking at Google Earth, it looks like it's still there, and I have no doubt it is still "works."
The drawings of me in this strip are among the first I did after starting up again, and you can tell because I was still trying to get my system worked out. One problem had to do with the camera lens I used and how close I stood to the camera. You can see it in panel three, where, thanks to the perspective issue, I appear to have a little toddler arm.

Best three dollars I spent today, unless my powerball ticket is a winner. Then it will be the second best.
