This has been a week omg! In laws in town, heat wave (for the U.K.! Haha!) and little George has been struggling to sleep through the heat! (As a Canadian, moving here, I was very surprised to find out no one has air conditioning haha! It grows hair on your chest! …. Not literally)
BUT WE STILL HAVE A WEEKEND VIDEO BABEH! Now! For the eagle eyed gringa viewers you might be thinking “hey! Haven’t you already made this video?!” AND YOU GOT ME THERE 🤣🤣 but honestly - I’m not really proud of the one I made a few years ago anymore and on top of that, I think the challenges of TAG and my opinion of them has evolved. So it is worth revisiting!
I’d love to know your thoughts and opinions on TAG. Anything you think they’re getting particularly right or wrong?!
The big disappointment for me is that I feel like… they’re almost, like…. Heaps of potential wasted. So much heritage, so much brand power and name recognition and they don’t use it to its full advantage. You know?!
Anyways! Working on next weeks videos now! I’ve got one for the F1 film coming out! (I’m too excited. I’m so sorry non-F1 people!) AAAAAAND one I’ve been working on for a long time. I think it’ll go down like a lead balloon 🤣 but hey! That’s what we do: we experiment! This video is going to be looking at how the luxury industry at large is failing, with LVMH used as the bel weather. Why is the luxury industry floundering? Even here in the U.K., there’s a lot of Watches of Switzerland shops shutting up (TAG Heuer boutique and Breitling boutique in Bristol alone!). Idk! Any thoughts you might have on that too! 🤔 let me pick your brains!!!!

I've had a thing for TH since the late 90's. It was the watch I aspired to own. I finally decided to go for it in 2023, YOLO! I feel like it was serendipity because the glass box Carrera just came out and when I first saw it I was like "this watch is ME" Such a badass watch and i love it. Side note: I bought it before I discovered the TAG Heuer haters club, lol.

Just a thought. It does not bother me that a brand offers both luxury watches and modest watches under the same label. I don’t think it “dilutes” or “diminishes” the brand. An F1 Quartz takes nothing away from a Carrera. Both can be TAG and both can serve a market segment. “Diluting the brand” is a euphemism for someone who spent a lot on a watch being embarrassed when he sees someone else, a “lesser person,” wearing a “cheap” watch of the same brand. That sounds to me like a personal problem. I have an Omega Constellation 41 in Blue with an expensive custom made alligator strap, and it not only does not bother me to see someone wearing a MoonSwatch, I welcome it and I welcome people to the world of analog watches. But, that’s just me. Excellent video! This is why I am here, for thoughtful and personal viewpoints and expressions. Watch Gringa Forever! 😎
