I've tried this watch so many times......very nearly bought the white dial with a rubber strap, but put the $$ into a Cartier instead. I just don't like the escape valve....it looks awkward, and (lets be frank) there's zero reason for it to stick out from the case - even if they couldn't fit it inside the case (i.e. Rolex SD), they could integrate it in one of the lugs. The bracelet looks awful. Its a shame, as it's incredibly well-made, but it looks like a design that GS had rejected for one of their dress watches. It's too fancy and too 90s for a modern diver. I can live with the hands, but woudl have preferred sword hands - good news - we can get all that on one of the new vintage models in the range :D

Valid points. I do hear a lot of love as well though. For me the perfect iteration was the 2531.80. It’s very elegant and doesn’t feel too big on the wrist, plus that bracelet feels very very comfortable. That being said. From the modern Seamasters I still think the Planet Ocean is the best. The He escape valve is proportional, the hands are elegant and classic, and you can choose between 39 and 43mm. Beautiful 😎👌
