🕑 Added 2022-10-31 20:40:36 +0000 UTCHey Patrons! I'm so so sorry this is a day late! But man, this cold has been kicking me in the ass. Today is the first day I am kinda feeling back to normal (yay!). And to be honest, I'm a bit unsure about this one.
Maybe it is because the sun is going down earlier and I'm all up in my feelings ;) but I've just been reminded recently that.... Watches aren't really that important. Haha. Well, they are! But they kinda aren't either. ;) Let me explain! So.... I've been noticing myself getting too sucked in to the watch community - and I begin to see myself acting out of character - arguing over petty, tiny things; getting consumed with dumb comments haha. And I've had to remind myself... IT'S ONLY WATCHES! It is only watches! They don't matter that much lol - they aren't worth arguing about with strangers on the internet lol. I've found myself arguing over MILLIMETRES. YES. MM. LMOA. And that's when I realised "Gringa, girl, you need to go get some fresh air" hahaha.
And also, you know, I'm really aware that we are at the beginning of a recession. At least here in the UK. And I feel kinda silly making videos like "is rolex even THAAAAT GOOD?!" when like....... there are people worried about much bigger things. I know this channel is stupid lol! in a world full of more important things!
But for me, it is in times like these where I kinda really need that escapism through watches. Watches and horology really take me away! I just think they are absolutely amazing! And I really want this channel to be a place that spreads joy around this amazing hobby even if things kinda get a bit rough. Watches don't matter... But they are often a symbol for something that DOES matter. Maybe they were a gift from a family member, so they are infused with meaning! Or maybe they resemble something that you are keen to pass along.
I guess this video was just a reminder to myself to keep the important things, the importnat things. Don't let watches take over too much. If there is a point where they aren't feeling joyful anymore, maybe it is time to take a break! But I think I just spend too much time on watch social media ;) haha.
IDK, I'd really want to hear what you guys think on this one. I hope I don't come across the wrong way or anything. Sometimes I don't communicate the best!

Thanks Britt!! Love the video and glad you are feeling better. I would not change your approach. I love viewing your channel as an escape from the daily issues here in NYC. The recession and crime has really changed the city and has definitely changed my thoughts on what timepiece I wear out. As a doc here I have had to alter my way of practicing as many of the patients I see don't have the means to pay at the moment and not able to take time off work. Fortunately my wife and I are able to live comfortably and have some luxury goods on the side. Keep up the good work!!
