Honestly I'm not sure. It might help efficiency a bit by making the turbo breath a bit easier, but I've always thought about it preventing enough air from entering the engine which isn't an issue when you're hyper mileing.

On the intercooler video, its mentioned that the performance impact of hot air cannot be overstated. Does this only impact power, or does it also impact efficiency (in a mpg sense).
